The Basement Gallery Soho opens its doors with our first exhibition by illustrator Seventy Tree. Over the coming months we will be hosting a selection of the capital’s most interesting, innovative, and exciting artists, illustrators, and craftspeople who work in a predominantly analogue manner: those who work within mediums that involve a hand-worked-element. We are delighted to announce our first exhibition “Smile” by illustrator Seventy Tree. Be the first to see this exciting show at our Private View on Friday 14th September 2012 from 6-9pm. There will be Saint Beer, Rekorderlig Cider and a healthy splash of art and culture.
This show runs from Friday 14th September – Sunday 28th October 2012
Seventy Tree was established in 2010 by London illustrator Kerry Layton. Kerry’s love for geometrics, characterful creatures and colour is strongly represented in her work. She creates whimsical imagery that appeals to both adults and children alike.
Kerry works with traditional art forms such as pen and pencil as well as computer illustration, often combining both. A keen photographer, Kerry writes a popular blog, which is a very personal expression of her work, inspirations and family life.
