My World in 360: Join the Spinner Frenzy!

I love my Spinner 360, it's one of my favorite Lomography cameras and it always steals the scene wherever and whenever I take it out to play! Check out some of my Spinner shots after the jump...

It’s been a while since I fell into the temptation of getting myself a Spinner 360, now, as I look back at my spins I’m very happy I joined the Spinner frenzy.

The great thing about the Spinner 360º is that it’s a very versatile camera. Even though it has a weird shape it’s still very light, which makes it portable and easy to use in different situations, locations, and even weather changes.

I like how the 360º spin gives you a different perspective of the world that’s around you. So I thought why not take the Spinner out and put it on wheels while I roller blade, and that’s exactly what I did and the results came out pretty fun:

As I was telling you before, another great thing about this camera is that it steals the scene wherever you are. And when I say it becomes the main focus of people around you, I mean even in the middle of carnival, people will stop and take a picture with you when you ask them. These are some of the spins I made in the middle of the Sitges Carnival:

Another great trip with my Spinner was when I took it to the Vall de Nuria a ski station a couple of hours north of Barcelona. Being able to take circular panoramas out in the snow where you can jump and act silly is a great time. This was a family trip so I got everybody to create a circle and make funny faces at the camera. It was loads of fun!

But let’s change the snow and cold weather for a little sun and the beach. My Spinner also made the trip to the island of Capri and in the middle of those amazing rock formations and the rocky beaches; my Spinner soaked up some sun and captured awesome panoramas:

If you haven’t tried the Spinner 360, what are you waiting for?

Go out and give your shots a spin…

    Action.. basket time!

As you can see in my albums, I love to photograph sports events. In this case, I used a pretty Actionsampler camera to document a mini basketball game played in the park of my city Como, in celebration of the Festival of Sports. It's a funny camera with interesting results! Take a look after the jump!

Spinner 360: Pull the Cord and Let the Magic Happen!

The story between the Spinner 360 and I goes way back to the year 2010, when Lomography decided to send me a beta model of the Spinner 360 to test. It was a complete surprise! I thought, "What the hell is that?" as I first took this camera out of the package. Then, when my little brother grabbed it from me and pulled the cord, it buzzed and turned 360°! We all had the same expression: "Whoa..."

Fresh from My Darkroom: The First Game of the New Rugby Season

Last Sunday, the local rugby team Rugby Como played the first match of the 2014-1025 season. Rugby is my favorite sport to photograph, and for some years I've been documenting almost every home match of this young team. This time I used a 1959 Zorki 5 camera with a vintage 1958 Industar-50 lens loaded with a timeless film, the Ilford HP5+ developed in a century-old developer, the mythical Rodinal. My Lomo’Instant Quick Tips

I backed the Kickstarter project for the Lomo’Instant earlier this year and was thrilled to receive it last week. I love how the camera naturally encourages you to experiment with its different features, whether it’s through flashing your multiple exposures with different colors or trying different creative techniques after your shots has been ejected. Here are a few tips from what I’ve discovered from playing with the camera so far (and a couple of tips I want to try out in future)!

I prefer being outdoors whenever I go on a vacation at the seaside. For this reason, I always choose to stay at a campsite instead of a hotel. Object of My Affection: Subbuteo

In my early adolescence, I liked to play table football. For my 12th birthday, my parents gifted me with a wonderful Subbuteo table soccer game set that I had wished for many months! This was my favorite toy until I discovered other interesting hobbies, like ham radio and electronics. So after some years, I gave away this game to other kids. I always remembered this game with pleasure and a hint of nostalgia.
