Lomography's LomoKino Maker App Is Here!

13

We’re SUPER excited to announce the arrival of the LomoKino Maker – Lomography’s first application for the iPhone! Now you can scan and digitize your LomoKino movies even more easily - the app converts your negatives into positives in one effortless step!

The LomoKino, allows you to direct your own stunning short films – with this handy camera, all you need is 35mm film and creativity! The definitive LomoKino accessory, the LomoKinoScope completes your analogue moviemaking experience by allowing you to watch your films right after they’ve been developed. With the LomoKino Smart Phone Holder and the LomoKino Maker App you can digitalize your LomoMovies in a breeze!

It’s so simple! Just load your finished LomoKino movie into the LomoKinoScope, and attach both the LomoKinoScope and your phone to the LomoKino Smart Phone Holder. Open the LomoKino App, choose the right preset, press record and start recording your movie to share with your friends.

When digitizing negative film, the inverted picture will be calculated in realtime
When digitizing slide film, no filter is necessary.

For positive film (such as slide film), just opt for the no filter option. In the case of negative film, which needs inversion to show the correct colors, just select the right preset. This will show you the correct picture colors in realtime, and you can start recording. The result will look like this (and the app also records sound – though I told everyone to be quiet you hear some background noises):

Download the App on the App Store. Let us know what you think of it in the comments – we’d be happy to hear from you!

I've used it finally! It's so sweet! I don't know why but I get a much nicer result with the infrared filter than with the invert filter. On the invert I get lots of blueish tones. I also realized it depends on the amount of light that comes in and the position the light is coming in through the LomoKinoscope window. I'll keep testing it for further feedback. thanks guys this is saving me sooo much time

I'm having mixed results. Could be that I'm attempting this on a cloudy day and the fact that my lomokoinoscope keeps shredding the sprockets on my film :-( Has anyone else had this problem? If so, could you tell me how to stop it.

I'm desperate to use the App myself but right now I already have it installed on my iPhone (and iPad), both running iOS 6.1.3, but all the Videos I shoot with the app look SOLID BLACK on playback. They show an accurate running time, there is simply no picture. (I promise -- I don't have my thumb over the lens!) Has anyone else ever had to deal with this problem? Any advice would be very much appreciated, thank you!
