Penataran Temple, Cultural Arts from a Long Time Ago with the Spinner 360

There are a lot of historical temples in Indonesia that are great to be captured on film, and I'm going to share with you guys one of them. The Penataran Temple in Blitar, East Java.

Penataran Temple, which is also known as “Pallah Temple”, is one of the Hindu temples that were established in Indonesia, it’s also the most glorious and largest temple in East Java.

There are actually three types of temples here: Naga Temple, Angka Tahun Temple, and the Main Temple. In here, there’s also a statue, which is usually called ‘arca’ and some monument or inscription with beautiful historical art carvings on it.

There are different styles of carvings that can be found in this temple. Some of them are carved like medallions and some of them are carved like people. Aside from being a popular tourism spot, Penataran Temple is also a nice place to hold cultural festivals. My uncle told me that when he was in college, he was part of a performance there for a Javanese cultural festival.

So prepare your camera and make some art from this cultural art! :)

The Spinner 360° goes beyond the confines of standard panoramic cameras. See everything around you (literally!), and be swept away by truly spectacular results. Head to our Online Shop and get your own Spinner 360°!

I want to share with you my experience with some slides when I was in Russia. I'm very sorry for them because I messed them up. They're just ruined and they'll never be the same! But hey, I have thousands of them, so I guess it's not a big deal after all.

    Chemical Manipulations with the Lomo’Instant

Perhaps you’ve already had chance to try light painting, multiple exposures and long exposures with your Lomo’Instant, but what can you experiment with next? Well, that’s exactly the thought I had which led to giving this Tipster a go. I wanted to shoot Lomo’Instant photos which felt a bit “messier” than what I’m usually used to and to use a technique which would open up new possibilities with the kinds of images I could create with my favorite instant camera. Well, here I go!

Nothing Happens on Color Film: Street Life in Como As Seen From the Bus

Some weeks ago, I made a tribute to the great photographer Robert Frank and his 1958 black and white series taken in New York from a bus window. He is the master of the ordinary moments, capturing the essence of daily life in a series of free and random sequence of photos where nothing important happens! And as I've written there I wanted to take a similar experiment with color film, which would change the perception of the environment where people live. Read more after the jump!

Summer Hot Spots: Blaavand, Denmark (Part Two)

When I was a child, I regularly went to Blaavand, located at the Danish west coast, with my brothers and parents. I stopped going there as I grew up. In 2012 however, we hit the road again. It was my first return visit in about 20 years. I took the chance and packed as many cameras as possible into my luggage. In part two of my journey log, I'm going to show you the pictures I took with my Lomography cameras.
