The Diana World Tour is Officially Open at Lomography Austin!

We threw a grand fête here in Austin to welcome delightful prints, fascinating clones, and the illustrious Detrich collection of the Diana World Tour!

After successful stops in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Diana World Tour has finally made its way to Austin, Texas! Opening night had an amazing turnout and was a party not to miss. Let’s jump right in with a video from Chris Corona and Javier Antonio Avellan, the dynamic duo that are Lobo Sucio:

Excitement filled the air in the days leading up to the opening. We took a break from our regularly scheduled workshops in order to install the 100+ vintage Diana cameras that make up the Detrich collection, hang the prints as shot by Austin residents on benefit for local charities, and put out the custom clones as constructed by even more creative Austinties! We also had a visit from KEYE the morning of the opening where they did a live preview of the entire show!

Some of our lovely participants with their pieces from the show.

Many of the participating artists were at the opening party as well! Such a treat for all the party-goers to learn even more about the amazing pieces!

Here in Austin we value our local businesses as much as our local artists. Cow-Tipping Creamery, ID Sodas, and Black Star Coop Pub and Brewery really make an art out of their delicious deserts and potent potables, while Amelia from the Austin Phonograph Company provided the best all-analogue tunes to compliment our exhibit.

Thanks also to Jeff from Black Star Coop Pub and Brewery, as well as Kelly and Mark from ID Sodas for the AMAZING refreshments!

Without further ado, let’s get a look at the rest of the photos from the night! Thank you to everyone who made it out, we’re so proud of the show! Bidding on Austin’s prints to benefit local charities continues through the closing of the Diana World Tour at our LIVE AUCTION on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. And don’t forget, we have a full month of FREE workshops to celebrate!
