When the Sun Rises, Shoot with the SuperSampler!

SuperSampler on a sunny day--what a great combination! I'm sure that I'm not the only one in Lomography that uses this camera a lot among the hottest months of the year.

My SuperSampler is blue, like the ocean. I enjoy taking it to the beach and shooting a lot of photos under the sun.

When I’m not near the seaside: I take it to the swimming pool! It’s a great idea if you have friends that enjoy being the subjects of your photos. They would jump into the water without thinking twice about it!

When the sun raises I like going out for a ride with my bicycle. The SuperSampler is weightless and I can take it wherever I want.

Or, if it is too hot outside, I can always go for a walk into a fresh park and keep on shooting with this camera. Once you learn to control the focusing area, you’ll take great portraits of your friends!

And there is one more location where Supersampler does its best: the zoo! As animals are constantly moving the pictures turn out more amazing.

Finally, I would like to say to those those who already own this camera: come on, take it and shoot with it a lot this summer! And to the lomographers that are unsure if buying it or not, I have a second advice: buy it! It’s a cheap option that will make you have a great time!

The SuperSampler, the queen of multilensed cameras, is now in “bright blue”: http://shop.lomography.com/supersampler-rubberized-blue. It takes four sequential panoramic shots on a single, action-packed 35mm photo. See all SuperSampler colours and designs in our Shop!

Photo Stories: Kīlauea - Volcanic Eruption by russellmcbride

Venturing into an area when there's volcanic activity is a feat that can only be either courageous or foolish. One thing's for sure, though, it's the kind of experience that not many people share and—should one escape unscathed, like russellmcbride and his friend—a highly rewarding one at that.

Cinematographer Michal Dabal on the Petzval Lens

Here’s what happens before we interview a photographer. We gush about the work though we have yet to find out the cameras and processes behind the brilliant composition or the light architecture. And even when they haven’t used a Lomo camera, we feature them anyway. But every once in a while comes a pro who uses one of our premium lenses at work and our fun cameras off-duty. This makes us mighty glad, more so when their images are good and worth sharing. We count cinematographer Michal Dabal's work among them.

Doug DuBois on My Last Day at Seventeen

Doug DuBois spent five summers photographing the small neighborhood of Russell Heights in Ireland to capture the essence of coming of age: the inevitable loss of youth and the imminent transition into adulthood. Those four years resulted in his latest book, My Last Day At Seventeen. The book is a visual tale told through a collection of photographs and gives an alternative perspective through a comic narrative around the same subject. This creative combination of two distinct narratives in one book not only works wonderfully in visual terms; it also serves as an essential tool that lets the reader dig deeper into the story being told, making one go back to the book over and over again, yet from a new perspective, every single time.
