Eureka! A God Particle Discovered?!

1

That's right people! the world's arguably most anticipated scientific experiment: the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has finally found what it was looking for, the Higgs Boson (pronounced "botswain") particle, a.k.a. the God Particle!

Ever wonder what’s going on in the empty spaces of the universe? Have you ever looked up to the sky and marvel its magnificence and ponder how the heck is it possible. What’s holding all of the planets and stars together? Well, hold on to your mouse and don’t get too close to the monitor, because you’re going to get the answer!

The discovery to the answer above is all thanks to a gigantic instrument called the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Don’t know what an LHC is? It’s exactly what it stands for! A large container that collides hadrons, which are atomic particles. Don’t know what an LHC looks like? Check out the video below! Josef Kristofoletti, an artist from Texas that specializes in murals and paintings, was inspired by the LHC and created a huge mural on a wall.

After a long period of zapping and blasting small particles to one another, scientists working with the LHC discovered evidence of a new subatomic particle! Yeay! But wait, they say that there is more research and analyzing to do until they can confirm that it is the Higgs Boson particle that they have prophesied.

The Higgs Boson particle was first proposed in 1964 by Peter Higgs, an 83-year-old British physicist. In his theory, Higgs believes that the Higgs Boson particle is what gives matter mass. This huge finding would be the proof that Higgs has been looking for to explain the invisible energy field that space is so full of. It would be the reason for the existence of stars, planets, and life itself! Eureka!

As much as I am interested in finding out about these things, I am also very sceptical about finding out how things are created, formed , as this can of course mean that we will find new ways to artificially create new things and that very scary.

A Salute to the Masters: Ducks (A Tribute to Henri Cartier-Bresson)

This article is dedicated to arguably one of the most famous street photographers in the world, Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004). On this occasion, I felt obliged to write a tribute to this great artist whom I consider the "Mozart of Photography." His photos are inimitable, and to try to reproduce his innate sense of composition, harmony, and choice of the right moment is but an illusion. So I chose an unusual way to pay tribute, the only way possible for me. Take a look!

Here are a few tips from what I’ve discovered from playing with the camera so far (and a couple of tips I want to try out in future)!

INmusic Festival is my favorite music festival in the world. But as it turned out, lots of other people have discovered it, too. They said 75,000 people attended the festival this year, which was like the number of attendees for the two previous years combined.

“I would like to buy a jukebox.” I've said this many times, so 4 years ago my ex-girlfriend went to my home with a little package. "It's a present for you," she said. I opened it and found a 12" vinyl disc, the single "Woman" by Wolfmother. It was wonderful. "If you will finally buy a jukebox, you shouldn't miss playing this song," she said.
