Last week, my funk/jazz band Euro Cinema travelled from Holland to Brighton to play our first-ever UK gig. A great opportunity to play music, meet cool people, have fun, and of course...take pictures with my LC-A+!
Knowing that it would be very cloudy, I decided to bring two “simple” rolls of colour negative with an ISO of 400. This was the first time I did not cross process since I’ve had my LC-A+! I was quite pleasantly surprised with the results.
Outdoors, the Minitar’s unique blend of sharpness and softness really comes through. Colors are slightly softened, which fits perfectly with the melancholy look of beautiful Brighton. Indoors, the light meter got me some nice images in very low lighting – go LC-A+!
For extra fun, I brought a Holga flash with color gels to take some party pics after the gig. Next time I’ll have to ask someone to take some LOMO pics of us on stage!
We had a great time in Brighton and I highly recommend taking a LOMOwalk in this very atmospheric town. And oh yeah, should you want to hear some of the music we played (which is just as retro as the cameras I love), visit us at Euro Cinema.
