It's the day after and it looks like nothing happened in the Kammenstraat. But hey, we know better what happend yesterday. The party at number 55 was massive and now the Lomography Gallery Store Antwerp is officially open!
Oehlala, it was such a blast last night. All those nice people, all these happy faces and all the pictures that has been shot – it was great. The beautiful cake, the special and unique act of poet Wim, the ice cold Belgium beers and the rockin’ performance by The Deer Friends. Yes, it was a successful opening party! We would to like to say a BIGTHANKYOU to everyone who came all the way over to the Kammenstraat. Thanks for being here to celebrate this opening with us. We hope to see each one of you very soon again and don’t worry if you missed out the LomoWall during the party. Drop by anytime soon to have a closer look at all these colorful lomographs that the wall contains. From today on the store will be open on Monday till Saturday between 10am and 6:30pm.

Before the month of July ended, Lomography Gallery Store Soho held the mother of all parties with the opening night of the Lomography x Nixon Exhibition. People spilled out onto the streets and queued up to see psych-pop band Swim Mountain play live. Find out more about the event after the jump.
Last month, Lomography Gallery Store Soho held an exhibition of photographs taken at the Nixon Surf Challenge in Russia. Free drinks and live music from Swim Mountain overflowed at the opening party. Using the Petzval lens and a star-shaped aperture plate to give a beautifully soft, dreamy effect, the folks at the Soho Gallery Store created a video of the event. Watch this video after the jump.

Back in the 1990s, Gilbert Blecken was a big music fan and wrote for his own small music fanzine. He would interview bands in between sound checks and take photographs of them. He was never a professional photographer or worked for a company; he simply did it for his fanzine. Twenty years on, Gilbert’s photographs have matured into an amazing documentation of some of the biggest music icons of that era. We caught up with Gilbert to ask him about these photographs and the fascinating story behind them.
