How to Make a Case for the LomoKino

4

In the end, I couldn't wait to buy the Lomokino Mubi Edition. Then, I thought that I didn't have a case to protect it and I'm very careful with it. And this is white! The solution was to make my own case and this is what I'm going to show you in this lomo-trick.

This is my Lomokino MUBI, it’s beautiful. But I want it to continue being beautiful, so I need to protect it!

Materials needed:

  • We need colored foam; it’s a cheap material, durable, and comes in lots of colors.
  • A ruler
  • Pen or pencil
  • A zipper
  • Needle and thread

Steps to follow:

First, what we have to do is to take measurements of the camera and draw them in the foam. Then, we’ll cut them. I used 4 pieces: two for the sides, one for the front, and one for the base, and one more for the top.

Then we will sew them (look the photos, you’ll understand it better).

We should join the main piece (biggest) to a side piece like this:

When we sew it, we’ll get something like this:

Now, we have to check if the camera fits in the case, and cut it if it’s bigger. We have to check the size of the front piece (I had to make a new piece) and if all the pieces are okay, we sew them. This is the result:

Now we only have to put the zipper so we can close the case. It’s so easy than it seems.

We’ve finished and this is the result:

Come on, make your own LomoKino case!

Lomo on!

Falling In Love With The LC-A 120

There are quite a few perks that come with working for a film photography company, and the best perk of all is testing out the latest cameras. I can remember buying my LC-A back in 2009 and being really inspired to shoot film again. When the LC-A 120 came along, I couldn't wait to try it out around London. Join me as I test out this super medium format beauty.

At Cemeteries with an Old Nikon F3 and the New Petzval Lens

I bought my Petzval Lens in September, and of course, I couldn’t wait to test it. To see what I could make out of the depth of field and swirling effect, I took the lens out of the packaging and brought it out to cemeteries in my area.

Pushing Boundaries: So I Heard You Like Multiple Exposures

My name is Amber Valentine and I have a confession to make: I’m not really a photographer. I have a website full of photographs, a bookshelf full of cameras, film waiting to be developed, and a wall full of framed pictures I’ve taken. Even so, I don’t really consider myself a photographer per se. I think that Lomography is more about the experimentation and the fun of film than it is about the photography, and that experimentation is part of the reason I have embraced Lomography so.

Spinner 360: Pull the Cord and Let the Magic Happen!

The story between the Spinner 360 and I goes way back to the year 2010, when Lomography decided to send me a beta model of the Spinner 360 to test. It was a complete surprise! I thought, "What the hell is that?" as I first took this camera out of the package. Then, when my little brother grabbed it from me and pulled the cord, it buzzed and turned 360°! We all had the same expression: "Whoa..."

Summer Hot Spots: Blaavand, Denmark (Part One)

When I was a child, I regularly went to Blaavand located at the Danish west coast with my brothers and my parents. However, I didn't anymore when I grew up. But in 2012, we hit the road again. It was my first visit there in about 20 years. I took the chance and packed as many cameras as possible into my luggage. In this article, I'm going to present to you the photos I took with my Nikon F-501 SLR.

I participated in the Kickstarter campaign and purchased my very own new Petzval lens. I can't wait to use with with my digital camera to experience its wonderful bokeh effect. I also wanted to try its effects when using a film camera but the lens has an EF mount. I didn't have a Canon camera. See what I did with it after the jump.
