WANTED: symbol suggestions for LGS Antwerp

2

Belgian Lomographers – we need your help! The preparations for the Lomography Gallery Store Antwerp are being made and one of the tasks is to create an original store logo. Unique, original and Antwerp-worthy.

Credits: lgsantwerpen

A Lomography Gallery Store without its own logo is not a Lomography Gallery Store. You know, every Lomography Gallery Store has its own unique logo which can be recognized worldwide. This is the logo of the store in Amsterdam for example:

For Antwerp we are looking for the right symbols and colours. We are not from Antwerp, but from the Netherlands, so we only know about diamonds, hand-shaped cookies and Belgian fries. So we need your help! You are the experts and know what is typically Antwerp, right? Which symbols should definitely be in the logo?

Post your suggestions (possibly with a link to an example) as a comment and we will get to work. We are grateful already!

Transient Living: Armitage & McMillan in Denver, Colorado

If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!

So here’s what we’ve been working on: an all new lomography.com

For the last year we've been working on the next version of Lomography. We based our work on the feedback you’ve given us over the years and we wanted to share it as early as possible with you and can’t wait to hear what you think. Just one warning first: it is still in development and things can break. All the photos, comments, likes, homes and everything else were transferred as of October 16th, 2014. So anything you do on next.lomography.com won't be reflected on www.lomography.com and vice versa. Once we are done with testing, everything you did here will be deleted again. So this is a big playground for you to explore.

There is nothing better than a photo shot at the perfect moment. Henri Cartier-Bresson's principle on "The Decisive Moment" is a principle that we should still follow to this day. A perfectly-timed photo creates impact, whether it's one of a friend jumping into the pool or a couple emerging from the ceremony on their wedding day. For this rumble, we want to see that breathtaking moment, shot at the perfect time. And you showed us what it's like to be on time.

The Glastonbury Festival is arguably one of the most anticipated and renowned music festivals in the world. It is a joy to be able to watch it, and a privilege to capture scenes on and off stage. Apart from creating beautiful portraits, the Petzval Lens is great for adding an albeit subtle drama to the already spectacular scenes of music festivals. Japanese photographer Taio Konishi photographed this year's Glastonbury with a Petzval 85mm Lens, and here are some of the photos. He also talks about his Petzval-meets-Glastonbury experience in this exclusive.
