Sweet Surreal Dream in Provia Colour

Have you ever imagined yourself falling asleep and suddenly everything becomes a surreal dream? As a shoe-gazing music lover, I created this surreal dream video clip for analogue enthusiasts.

Before this experiment, I’ve tried some galaxy doubles using 35mm film slides and I guess its a success. Next I was thinking why not I try to do self doubles using some surreal illustration work. Yes the illustrations might not be original images from me, but my purpose is to put together daily scenes from my life thus and creating an abstract image/photography of itself. None of the merging of these shots were planned. For this experiment, I only planned what to shoot for the first roll and which kind of environment to re-shoot again. That’s all…the merging part is still a mystery until I develop the film and see the results.

This is totally Golden Rule No 9. Afterwards Either!

Here are some examples of the self doubles that I was talking about. As you can see, the merging is nicely blended and I had no idea that the images would turn out like this.

As I find these photos too amusing and amazing, I decided to create a video clip for it. I chose the best photos from my surreal dream album to suit the song. Here are my chosen images:

And here is the 6-minute video, which I created using all the images above. Enjoy!

About this band:

Sharing a collective fondness for legendary rock bands such as The Verve, Stone Roses, Ride and more, Elise from Singapore, was formed circa 2003 and has since been living out their passion, perfecting an oceanic sound fusing the exploratory vision of ’60s-era psychedelia, with the shimmering atmospherics of the shoegazer aesthetic. To summarize it all, Elise is the band that is able to bring you to a surreal dream.
