Name: Ewen
Occupation: Event organiser
City/Country: Penang, Malaysia
LomoHome: ewen
LomoAge: 2 years

Hello, tell us a bit about yourself and your Lomographic journey.

I’m Ewen. Born in February, an Aquarius lady. I love to explore new things and to be honest I’m that kind of person who will lost interest quickly. But surprisingly, I still have strong passion to Lomography even until now. Back to my Lomographic journey about 2 years ago, I met a girl randomly at Facebook and she is one of the Lomo lover. I tempted by her Diana & Instax Camera and getting really curious and wanted to know more. Finally we had our first meet-up during my birthday in 2010. She’s really sweet as I got a small birthday gift from her although this is our first date. We had a great time and keep chatting nonstop about Lomography thingy.

And how did you come across the products of Lomography / Lomography for the first time?

I bought my first analogue camera which is UWS which is recommend by her as well.

So I heard there’s this very awesome community in Penang – The LomoPenang, are you part of this community?

I’m so glad to found this community and must never forget to mention the awesome leader of this community, Oliver Tian. Because of him, I got to know more Lomographers in the island.

Did you join any outings / workshops / event organize by this community?
Yes, I do. We used to have outing at least once each month, but currently the outing has stopped due to our leader had leave Penang Island to further his studies and there isn’t anyone organized it. What a sad case!

What the best part shooting with a bunch of Lomography enthusiast?

A lot of laughter and we do share a lot of tips and tricks of Lomography and gossiping!

And the worst?
So far I cant figure out yet!!!

Do you enjoy shooting alone or do you prefer shooting together with the community?
Can i choose both? I love shooting with a group of people but I think shooting alone ain’t that bad as well.

What is the definition of analogue lifestyle to you?

I think analogue is not looking for perfect quality pixels or perfect angle,it should be in more casual and relax way to do the shot for the meaningful moments.

Tell us the most heart-warming moments ever happen in your life, so far?

It was happened in last year, I went to shanghai for attending my brother wedding ceremony and boyfriend proposed to me on stage !!! Unexpected!! I started crying when I saw him down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Aww, that’s the warmest moment I ever had! :)

Picture of ewen and her boyfriend.

The most unforgettable, strangest, funniest or worst photographic/Lomographic thing that you encountered before?

I almost lost my LC-A+ during my last year Hong Kong trip. My mood was spoiled and it cause me argued with my boyfriend because he was the one who carried the camera. We looked around that night and end up we found out that he left it at train station!

What’s your favorite photo in your collection and why?

I love to do double exposure, and i this is the one i most satisfied.

Were you born in Penang? Where is your location now?

Born here, raised here and working here right now.

Penang is one of the awesome islands ever in Malaysia. Tell us, what do you love the most about Penang?

I love Penang because it’s my home town!!! My beloved family and friends are here and I have many sweet moments happen in this island.

What about the food? Is there any finger-licking good food that you love in Penang?

Penang food, it’s definitely a thumbs up! This is my top 5 list : Laksa , Chay Koay Teow , Rojak , Cendol & Oyster Omelet!

Where would you bring your friend to go when they pay you a visit at Penang?

Strait Quay! I highly recommend here, it’s Penang ’s latest F&B hotspot and a must-visit seafront destination.

Where do you develop your film at Penang? Do you have any other recommendation and what are the price and any other specific notes?

Normally i will send my film to ‘Kwong Ming’, their services and the quality of photo deliver satisfied me a lot!!! Price is quite reasonable as well.

Thanks for your time! Before we wrap things up, do you mind letting us know which Lomography product is your favorite and why?

LC-A+ is always my favorite! It’s small and lightweight as well as quick and easy to use, my best travel companion. ;)
