Ever wished you were surrounded by beautiful countryside that you could lose yourself in and take photos of every day? I have discovered a way of painting the city green.
I have spent hours poring over the beautiful and surprising photos on the lomography website, falling in love with the amazing colours and motion. Seeing what can be done, with all these different cameras and films, which all bring out different details and different ways of seeing things, has inspired me towards lomography more and more. But then I step out of the front door and I have to have a rethink.
I live in a city that, in certain lights, and certain weathers, can look almost attractive. But that light and that weather only come to us very rarely. It seems that for the majority of the time, the colour we experience here is grey. Grey streets, grey buildings, grey skies. Black and white is a very good option for photographers in this city. But if you want to bring a splash of colour in to your photos, it can be a bit of a struggle to see where to start.
And I think I have discovered a solution. I’m painting the city green with Agfa CT Precisa. Now this lovely little slide film, when cross-processed, is casting the city streets with greens, yellows, and golds.
And if it happens that the sun is shining, the gorgeous blue of the sky just emphasises and complements the ochre hues that show up in force in these photos.
And if there’s a light leak, splashes of turquoise appear alongside these other colours.
All of a sudden the greys and browns of the city I know so well are open to interpretation, and the urban world becomes the lomographer’s oyster.
The AgfaPhoto CT Precisa captures your memories with exceptional colour rendition and is ideal for sunny outdoor adventures. When cross-processed, you will see an overall colour-shift as cool blue tones envelop your images. See the whole range of colour slides in our Shop.
