At Lomography Gallery Store Soho. We’ve got plenty of treats in store this month especially for you! Whether you’ve never picked up a camera in your life, or whether you use one everyday, these workshops are for you. Spring clean your Lomography knowledge and bring that creativity to life with our exciting LGS Soho workshop sessions. Dust off those rolls of films you’ve been hiding, that Diana F+ you’re unsure of and bring the LC-A you’ve been swooning over to life.

5th May, Saturday from 12pm
LomoKino Love in Little Venice

This month we are all about the Lomokino. Join us as we take to the waterways and capture the sights, sounds and community spirit of the Canalway Cavalcade Festival at London’s very own Little Venice. Create your very own movies and transform a Saturday afternoon riverside walk into a beautiful vintage video.

Tickets are £20 and include a presentation, lend-a-camera LomoKino, 2 rolls of film plus discounts on film processing.

Introducing the Diana F+

There is no camera who loves the sunshine more than our classic 1960’s plastic princess. The Diana F+, with its lovely leaky trademark and dreamy vignettes love to come out and show its true beauty when the sun is shining. Join us in store to cover all the basics of this oh so popular member of the Lomography Family and get to grips with its retro qualities just in time for those long summer days.

Tickets are £15 and include a presentation, lend-a-camera Diana F+, a roll of film, plus discounts on film processing.

13th May, Sunday 10am
Lomography and Print Club London’s Mash-Up Analogue Workshops

Bring your own large format analogue photo prints up to Print Club London’s studio to learn how to screen print your own artwork and achieve some amazing and original pieces of multimedia artwork. These workshops will be led by an expert screen printer from The Print Club London. During the workshop you will learn how, and then have time to print onto your photographs using all the relevant screen printing processes and techniques.

The cost for this all day workshop is £50 and includes the amazing opportunity of exhibiting your finished artwork at Print Club London’s summer exhibition: Blisters. You will need to bring an A4 image with you in black and white that you would like to use as your print artwork.

Learning to Love the Lubitel

Let’s forget all the hang-ups and the worries that many have over our twin lens camera the Lubitel. Our only fully manual camera is as easy as the rest of them. Come in store as we sit down and cover the basics of this adaptation of the vintage classic. Compose and frame each shot to perfection, have total control on lighting and focusing – from ordinary joe to photographic pro in a Saturday afternoon.

Tickets are £15 and include a presentation, lend-a-camera Lubitel 166+, a roll of film, plus discounts on film processing.

LOMOWALK: Eco-Chic outdoor market at Spitalfields City Farm

A London market like no other, join us as we head to the urban oasis of Spitalfields City Farm just off Brick Lane. Savour the sights and sounds with your choice of either the LC-A+ or the glorious LC-Wide. Soak up and shoot this Eco-Chic jungle, meet Gwenivere the Shetland Cow and get back-to-nature right in the heart of the East End.

Tickets are £20 and include a presentation, lend-a-camera LC-A, a roll of film, plus discounts on film processing.

We’ve been invited by The Museum of London to exhibit a massive Lomowall as their artistic offering for the Olympic Games 2012. The title of this project is ‘Inspiring and Achieving in London’ and we are calling on YOU to help us out! Join one of our featured monthly workshops and images shot from those classes might be chosen to be used for the Lomowall which will line the entrance of the Museum of London come July 2012!

6th May, Sunday from 1pm
SHOOT HIGH!

This workshop is about looking up and capturing the beauty of the things above. The workshop will begin with a basic introduction to the La Sardina. Get to know its super wide angle lens and the beauty of simple multiple exposures and long dreamy exposures. We will head to the Southbank and gain a whole new perspective on traditional sights.

27th May, Sunday from 1pm
SHOOT LOW!

This time we want you to go low. Shoot the streets of London from a ‘Rats eye’ point of view and capture the cobbles in a whole new light. This time we are going use the Action Sampler. An underestimated gem of the Lomography family – its multiple lens madness will transform your images and create a labyrinth of angles.

Tickets are £20 and include a presentation, a roll of film and free processing + CD! Plus 20% off on all extra film purchased. A waiver for use of your images will be provided should your shots be chosen for the wall.

    A quick guide to Inkodye

    Shake well and apply to fabric. Blot out excess using a paper towel. Create your design using Inkofilm or anything that casts a shadow. Expose to sunlight or bright UV light for 10-20 minutes or until color reaches full saturation. Machine wash using Inkowash to remove unexposed dye. Double your exposure time in overcast weather. Enjoy the "wow" result!

    A Very Special Portrait Lens

    A Very Special Portrait Lens

    Photos shot with a New Petzval lens are immediately recognizable for their super-sharp focus areas and wonderful swirly bokeh effect. Each New Petzval lens is crafted from brass (just like the original Petzval lens) and features premium glass optics. Together with Lomography, the lenses have been designed and constructed by a team of optics specialists at the Zenit factory in Russia. Zenit are master lens manufacturers and have the skill to build the Petzval lens for use with today’s SLR cameras.
