We are excited that Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner in NYC! To celebrate, we have Walking Tours, parties and workshops in store. From celebrating summer early to teaching you all about film, we've got you covered for analogue fun!
Thursday 5/3 @ 6 pm – A Sand-Sational Blue Hour!
We’re kicking Summer off early this year with a sand-tastic Beach Party Blue Hour! Come decked out in your best beachy gear, and we’ll help you chill out with some cool drinks and tasty fare. We’ll be playing some relaxing tunes, and we have some special surprises in store for you to help you get Summer started right!
Saturday 5/5 @ 1pm – Spring (Film) Fling
Always wanted to get to know film a little better? Warm up to film this month as we learn all we need to know about the range of possibilities film can bring us. We’ll discover a little of what’s behind its magic and mystery and what causes all of those beautiful colors, as well as how to choose the right film in different lighting situations.
Saturday 5/12 @ 1pm – May Flowers Walking Tour
Grab your favorite camera and come with us to explore the lovely Brooklyn Botanical Gardens as we discover the beauty Spring brings us each year. Located at the northern end of Prospect Park, this garden is home to a magnificent array of over 10,000 plants and flowers, including 25 varieties of cherry blossoms, a rose garden, and a special Bonsai Museum! This workshop is FREE (Gardens’ Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students).
Saturday 5/19 @ 1pm – Seeing Double with the Diana Mini
The Diana Mini gives us two of everything, and we love it twice as much back! Join us as we explore the Mini’s two fun formats, the square and the half-frame. We’ll learn how to pair up photos to create striking diptychs in half frame mode, as well as create stunning double exposures as we discover the fun that can come from doing things in two’s. Bring a friend and you’ll each receive 50% off the workshop fee!
Wednesday 5/23 @ 7pm – Nightscapes with the Sprocket Rocket
The Sprocket Rocket has given us everything we need to create a beautiful landscape, so let’s discover how much more it can do for us when we use it at night! We’ll go over the basics of how to use this awesome panoramic camera, and then we’ll jump into long exposures and effectively using the flash while exploring the nuances and special magic that night can bring to our photographs.
