Island in the Sun: Shark's Cove (Upper)

Sharks? Say what? Nah, at least not for now. Here on Oahu, we have tons of beaches. But Shark's Cove isn't your normal beach. Read more about it after the jump.

I had always heard about Shark’s Cove, but had never ventured out myself. Over winter break, I finally decided to check it out!

This upper portion of Shark’s Cove is basically a huge tide pool filled with rocks, coral, fish, and other strange sea creatures.

(A weird rock-shaped crap and a sea urchin!)

The unique thing about this place is, it is surrounded by a rocky wall. It’s a fun place to take kids to, as long as you watch them and make sure they don’t step on any sharp rocks. Most of the rocks that come above water though are nice and smooth!

You think you’ve seen everything when you’re above water, but it’s such a different place below it!

My friends, being adventurous as they are, decided to climb up the wall. Beware, it’s SHARP!

The next time I’m at this side of the island, I will plan to explore the lower part of Shark’s Cove beyond the rock wall with my Krab. Hopefully, I won’t encounter any sharks, at least not when I’m in the water…wish me luck!
