There are a lot of talented people who work at Lomography Gallery Soho and Victoria Schofield is no exception to that rule. She is a student who has already built an extensive portfolio of photographs and is serious about music photography. We lent her a Petzval lens to test over the weekend and here are the results.
Hans Eijkelboom is a Dutch conceptual artist/street photographer who has just released a book titled Hans Eijkelboom: People of the Twenty-First Century published by Phaidon. We are love these photographs and are offereing you the chance to win a copy of this wonderful book and La Sardina Cubic to capture your very own amazing photos. Read on to enter this great competition!
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
I would like to tell you about the Zhuzhalka. Zhuzhalka is the slag waste that remains after coal mining. But in this story, in our case, we have another meaning for this word. Here, the Zhuzhalka is a Ukrainian group of young photographers. These photos are by artists from Donetsk city in eastern Ukraine. The name of the project was influenced by the geographic specialization of Donetsk.
The Ting Tings are a musical duo from Manchester who have more pop hits than you can shake a stick at. They are most famous for their 2008 hit "That's Not My Name" which got even the stiffest of people shaking in their seats. The Ting Tings are back with a brand new album called Super Critical. They are big film fanatics (check out their website for proof) so we gave them a Sprocket Rocket Camera and a bunch of film to document their life in sunny IBIZA.
Did you catch the solar eclipse that happened recently? Word on the street is that it even resulted in a total eclipse in some areas of Europe, making it a pretty rare occasion for the folks that got to see it! We're guessing that some of you even had your cameras to catch the whole shebang on film — which is why we're throwing a competition for the best eclipse and sun inspired shots out there. Come on in and check out the details!
Young London-based photographer Nicolette Clara Iles has finally gotten around to trying out the Lomochrome Purple, and she has graciously shared with us the results. Have a look at her lovely photos after the jump!
Susanna Brown is the Curator of Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. She curated the exhibition "Horst: Photographer of Style" as well as recent V&A shows "Selling Dreams: One Hundred Years of Fashion Photography" and "Queen Elizabeth II by Cecil Beaton." We lent her an LC-A+ to test out her own photography skills and asked her a few questions about this fascinating job.
We have been digging in our archives here at Lomography UK and have noticed how often the Diana F+ is featured on the front pages of magazines. It appears to be the most photographed of all our cameras. Here are a few wonderful fashion shots that show off the Diana F+ to the world!
