Dreams Do Come True: adi_totp In India #5

This is the last story of adi_totp In India #5, that means this is about my last day in India. I woke up with a heavy heart because I knew that day was my last day in India. After days of traveling from Agra to Udaipur, I can never get enough of India so I decided to make the best of my last day. Incredible India!

I had this quick yet delicious breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant and walked quickly downstairs to the streets of Pahar Ganj on a Sunday morning!

Sunday Morning in Pahar Ganj

I walked from my hotel to the NDLS railway station. This time I wanted to go to Qutub Minar, and to go there I took Delhi Metro.

The Metro

After reaching Qutub Minar’s Metro Station, I decided to walk to Qutub Minar. If you’re asking “Adi, why didn’t you take the Autorickshaw?”. Honestly, I don’t know and at that time I was so pumped so I walked for quite a long distance and was motivated by this advertisement I saw at the bus stop.

So I kept on walking until I finally reached Qutub Minar. It’s very beautiful in the morning! Totally worth the walk!

Lomo LC-A+ and Qutub Minar

As you can see above, I took all of my cameras to shoot Qutub Minar. Call me stupid for shooting the same object but if you’re there and staring at the tallest minaret in India, you’ll probably do the same. You will take your camera and see the minaret through the viewfinder and keep shooting! This shows how wonderful Qutub Minar is.

By the way, Qutub Minar is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Delhi, India. The Qutub Minar was constructed with red sandstone and marble, and is the tallest minaret in India. I just had to shoot this minaret so I could see it all over again when I go back to Indonesia.

Last shots in India

Enjoying Qutub Minar on that lovely Sunday morning was the perfect way to end my trip before I go back to Indonesia that same afternoon. I felt sad that I had to depart India. I wanted to stay here a bit longer and eat more delicious Indian food. Oh well, this means that I must go back to India

Oh well, this means that I must go back to India in the near future for sure. Maybe I will go back to Udaipur or explore Rajasthan all over again? I must do that and somebody told me that Savandurga is a great place for trekking. Of course, I will eventually go back to India but in the mean time, let me finish my post grad class and thesis so I could travel there again.

Your lens licking friend who loves India, Adi.

PS : I forgot to meet up with the guys at Lomography India. I tweeted them before I went to India but forgot to confirm. Next time, guys!

Fresh from My Darkroom: The First Game of the New Rugby Season

Last Sunday, the local rugby team Rugby Como played the first match of the 2014-1025 season. Rugby is my favorite sport to photograph, and for some years I've been documenting almost every home match of this young team. This time I used a 1959 Zorki 5 camera with a vintage 1958 Industar-50 lens loaded with a timeless film, the Ilford HP5+ developed in a century-old developer, the mythical Rodinal. Take a look after the jump!

Spinner 360: Pull the Cord and Let the Magic Happen!

The story between the Spinner 360 and I goes way back to the year 2010, when Lomography decided to send me a beta model of the Spinner 360 to test. It was a complete surprise! I thought, "What the hell is that?" as I first took this camera out of the package. Then, when my little brother grabbed it from me and pulled the cord, it buzzed and turned 360°! We all had the same expression: "Whoa..."
