Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 35mm: Great Contrasts and Lush Colors

We Lomographers love slide film in C-41 to come up and be pleased about the great results. Lomography offers a great slide film for us, the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100!

First of a few facts, the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 is a slide film and has a sensitivity of ISO 100. It is sold in a pack of 3 rolls of 35mm film with 36 exposures. Even the packaging looks very nice and you’ll certainly want to insert the film into your camera.

The Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 is provided development in C-41, so I didn’t develop it as a slide film and can only speak from my experience on cross-processing. If you’re looking for saturated colors and funky contrasts with no color shift, you should stop reading now and get this film right away.

The Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 loves colors and finish these with fantastic contrasts and a strong color saturation. It has only a few color shifts, that is, the colors remain the same, unlike other slide films. In short, this film yields unrivaled photographs.

In combination with the LC-A+ and Colorsplash Flash, it is a great trio for any party. The colors hit it right on and photos don’t appear flat as other films. In addition, the images remain relatively free of grain.

I would hope, that Lomography makes a medium format version of Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 and would bring it out. It would be a great for Holga or Diana F+.

This film simply yields great pictures – intense as you want your photos to be! It’s a must-have for all cross-developers out there.

The Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 35mm is a showstopper of a slide. When cross processed, this film intensifies hues and makes everything more vibrant and vivid. See our selection of Lomography films here.

Pushing Boundaries: Multiple Exposing Film Soup

As you may have read in my previous article, I truly fell in love with Lomography when I combined my Fisheye camera with an old Canon AE-1 for magical photographic results. Last summer, I took so many pictures of flowers that it started to become almost boring for me. My waning interest and the coming winter meant that I had to figure out something else to do with my 35mm film.

I am a Mad Analogue Scientist: New Experiments with 35mm Films and Chemicals

Unfortunately, it happens sometimes that your resulting pictures are not what you expected - the image doesn't look that good, the colors are bland, and the subject is banal. Indeed, it couldn't be picture of the year! Herein I propose a second chance for your pictures by modifying your 35mm negatives. Just pick up some ideas from here, experiment, and scan your negatives with the Lomography Smartphone Scanner. Anything is possible: burning, scratching, putting on hydrochloric acid, balsamic vinegar, nail polish, bleach, or raspberry juice... use your imagination and write down your new film soup recipe! You can find a sample of the effects in this article.
