How did you find out about the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

I actually don’t remember how it was, but as soon as I discovered the Community, it was so very clear to me, that this was the ‘Community’ for me, and I just LOVE it!

Is there anyone in the Lomographic Society you look up to? If yes, who is him/her and why?

Ohh yes!! But not just one, that is impossible. All of my friends inspire me, and I just can’t wait to discover more.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

Well, in my age, I have to say my absolute favorite is #6, “Dont Think Just Shoot”, closely followed by #10, “Dont worry about any rules!”. Those rules hide a tremendous amount of freedom that I wish I had discovered earlier in life, but I’m still very happy to have embraced them now! (And of course, I always have a camera with me which is #1) :)

In this digital age, why still film?

Well, actually it is not ‘still’, it is again! I’ve tried digital, got quite good at it, but I never stopped mourning film… Then about two years ago, I discovered that film is not dead! It took me a while to take my old beloved camera out of the closet, and when I did, I felt very happy! It is a wonderful feeling to make photographs with film, it is a kind of organic feel that I never felt in digital photos. And when I hold a negative filmstrip in my hands, I feel so rich!

Share your current favorite Lomograph (could be yours or a friend’s) and explain why it is your favorite.

Ohh, that is a tough question, there is so many… I really like the doubles, and filmswaps can give the most amazing results! Just love that! But one that remains in my mind, and gives me a feeling of what life is about (yes I know that is rather deep) but I just love this image from one of my absolute Lomographers: Hodachrome! And who does not love his fantastic work??

Credits: hodachrome

This image contains, for me anyway, the contrasts of life, and the adventures we can have with it, if we choose it. Thanks Hodachrome for sharing this!

Newbie, rookie, neophyte or whatever you call them, our new breed of the ever-growing band of Lomographers are set to conquer the analogue land with their brand new hip-shooting abilities! And this is where we feature them along with their wistful thoughts and the freshest snaps each week!

Head past the jump to find out more about the great time we had with Lassi and to see some old-school Petzval shots!
