York in Black and White

4

Outside of London, York is one of the most visited cities in England. Rich in historic attractions including York Minister, the castle, and of course, the walls that enclose the city.

Renowned for its exquisite Minister and cobbled streets,York is a place where the old encompasses the new, where the walls of the city enclose the shops, museums, and architecture and give the town an old-world feel that is so iconic to the city.

As well as museums, a castle, dungeons, and gorgeous houses you can visit, York is also perfect to walk around in, following the route of the ancient walls or along the river that runs through the city.

Stop bath is a type of chemical used in the darkroom for processing black and white film, aptly named as such because it halts the development of the images. In this case, stop bath is also part of the title that Korean analogue street photographer Soomin Yim has given her body of work, "Stop Bath the City," to represent the forgotten faces of people in the city amid rapid modernization, captured and immortalized on black and white film.
