A massive ridge of sand in Colorado. There's no pathway so you have to walk and climb to see the amazing views and steep dunes
Congratulations to day3hugger for submitting in a breathtaking view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Colorado. Basking in the mountainous glory are great sand dunes, as well as an unusual warm-and-cool feeling due to the mix of the sand and the mountain breeze.
Abandoned Scotland is an amazing group based in... you guessed it, Scotland! They stealthily get into little-known locations to photograph amazing but forgotten and empty spaces. We spoke with Alistair, the head of the group, and provided him with a Sprocket Rocket to see how the panoramic wonder would capture some of Scotland's urban landscapes.
For a small island, I find that there's actually so much to see and do in Penang. If you do decide to visit this quaint state and its eponymous island in Malaysia, I bet you'll want to stay for at least a week, so I decided to do a number of day trip installments. Climbing a mountain is always fun. Climbing a volcano is even better. And climbing the highest mountain in a country, well, that tops it all. So you can just imagine how much I enjoyed climbing Mount Hallasan, the highest mountain in South Korea.

Have you ever seen those old optical toys they used in the 19th century to make out-of-this-world animated illustrations for kids and kids at heart? We haven't seen them in the flesh but it’s a good thing that Richard Balzer collects them and turns them into amazing GIFs for all the world to see.
Have you ever wished that you could just extend the view of your camera to perfectly capture what you see through your viewfinder? See how an artist does exactly just that with this series of sketches based on old photographs.
This article is a tribute to the great Russian photographer, sculptor, graphic designer, and painter Alexander Rodchenko. He was a pioneer in the search for unusual perspectives, with extreme view from above or from below, and with an innovative use of the diagonals and tilted views in his dynamic compositions. For this article, I was inspired by his most famous photo, a woman climbing a staircase, taken in 1930, which is reminiscent of the famous Odessa stair of the film "Battleship Potemkin" by Sergei Eisenstein.
