In the cold winter month of February, a group of Lomographers bravely traveled and met in Manchester to take photos, chat about cameras, and make new friends...and luckily for us, it even snowed!
Having only been to Manchester a few times in the summer, I was amazed by how different the city looked in the winter, it seemed to suit it though I thought – like a lot of the places in the north of England.
Although it snowed heavily and suddenly, we weren’t put off and some of those in the group even took part in a snowball fight in the square, which led to some interesting photo results from other Lomographers. Overall I think I prefer England in the summer, but our little trip to Manchester was definitely memorable and fun…if a bit cold.

Feldküche is a group that organizes dinner parties with a difference by cooking wonderful meals for groups throughout the Austrian countryside. This summer, we gave them a New Petzval lens to use in capturing their wonderful gatherings of people, food, drink and nature. We then got the opportunity to chat with Martin Fetz who runs the organization about what they do and their experiences shooting with the Petzval.
He is a graphic designer from Kassel, Germany who has been a Community member for about a decade. His ten-year stay has been remarkably fruitful. Aside from honing his photography skills, it is in this Community of ours where he met his girlfriend, made a lot of friends, and helped organize a huge weekend meet-up for fellow lomographers. Say hello to Daniel Lauterbach, also known as trash-gordon-from-outer-space, our LomoGuru of the Week!
Mary Ciesynski and her film photography club travel all over Arizona to host workshops, photo walks, and meet-ups. The latest photo walk was held at the historic Old Town Scottsdale Arizona in June. Mary will be traveling the US to host workshops and meet-ups throughout 2014.

This is a story of me and Sardine, my first ever analogue camera. We've been traveling for thousands of miles and met a lot of friends. Even though I have better cameras, Sardine is the one camera that will always be in my heart! So once again, this is my story with Sardine
Common sense tells us that when the weather gets bitterly cold, it's best to stay inside and drink a cup of something warm. But when you have a primo lens like the Petzval, it's hard not to go on an adventure! Equipped with nerves of steel and a Petzval lens, these Lomographers around the globe bundled up and braved the conditions to capture the top 10 wintry (not so) hot spots.
A few months ago we lent photographer Chris Pollard a Petzval lens to test out. Since then he has been experimenting with different cameras and in different settings. He tried out some cyanotype prints with this lens and chatted to us about the results. Read on for the full interview.
