Although I'm not a big fan of snow or ice, I am a fan of taking photos in it, especially if I have a new Fisheye lens that I want to experiment with on my Holga 135bc.
Leeds isn’t really well known for its countryside or greenery, but when you leave the city, you are reminded that you are still in Yorkshire and that surrounding the city there are hills, trees, and the countryside all around you.
Along the ring road of the city is one of the biggest towns in England: Horsforth and surrounding Horsforth are endless fields and rolling hills that follow the valley of the River Aire. This is where I decided to take photos with my new Fisheye lens and my Holga 135bc to capture the hazy, soft winter light, and the beauty of the snow over the fields. I think the results capture the serene atmosphere of the snow in Leeds perfectly.
The Holga 135BC will veil your images in mystery. “BC” stands for “Black Corner”, as this camera creates a shadowy vignette in corners of your photos. See this mysterious beauty in our Shop!
Sometimes when taking pictures I get addressed by strangers either because of my cameras or because they don't want me to shoot something they claim they have responsibility for. But having the police on my back was a new experience.
My list of resolutions for 2015 consists of 12 projects, one for every month. In January, I tried some camera add-ons. If you want to add a bit of extra bling to your pictures, you can put something either in front of or behind your lens. In this case, I did both.
Some people say instant photos bring about a feeling of nostalgia. Although I often use the Lomo'Instant Camera with different crazy accessories such as the Splitzer and color gels, I have to agree there is something about it — dreamy vignettes maybe? — that always makes me want to go back in time and experience it all over again. In the name of analogue photography and good old memories, we passed by some classic spots in Vienna and took one shot after the other. Take a closer look at our gallery.
Jungle, home, haven. The same words may apply to both city and nature. Though different they are linked. The city takes after the colors of flowers and animals; people mold their neighborhoods after the shapes of nature. Other similarities are accidental: the fun bit.
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
Bastien Bonnarme is an action and lifestyle photographer from France. He took several Lomography cameras such as the LC-A 120, the Supersampler, as well as the Lomography Petzval 85 Art lens during this year's surf challenge.
Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso. 1.6 million people live there when 20 years ago there were only 700,000; that is to say, the incredibly quick growth and the stunning density in this city shows today.
Armed with disposable cameras, a number of people affected by homelessness in London trooped out in the streets and captured life from their individual perspectives. That was in July; now, 13 photographs have been selected via public vote and will be featured on the upcoming calendar by Cafe Art, an initiative that "[showcases] artwork created by people affected by homelessness or are socially vulnerable."
