KLomo - My Home Is My Nation - Exhibition Update!

11

Just over a week ago we announced the "KLomo - My Home is My Nation" exhibition and the chance to be a part of it. In just a few days, we received over 1,400(!) different photos from you wonderful Lomographers. Now's the time to take a look a truly analogue look at this very *unique* exhibition on show in the center of Vienna, Austria!

KLomo – The Story

At the start of the month we received a plastic portable toilet; the challenge? To transform this toilet together with as many members of the Lomographic community as possible into a microstate depicting pictures of people at home – and all in less than a week! After the overwhelming response from you all, we can safely say our “KLomo” was a huge success!

A big thank you to everyone who took part, we tried to include as many of your photos as possible, so see if you can spot your own works of art in there! Here’s a list of everyone who took part (in alphabetical order)

Thanks again and well done to every single person that contributed and made this crazy exhibition happen!

We even made some LomoKino movies to share with you!

    LC-A Goes to Vienna

Vienna is the capital and largest city of Austria. It has been mentioned in a myriad of pop culture references in books, music, and film, and is also the home of the Lomography headquarters. The history of Vienna stretches back to a far 500 BC, which is why it’s no surprise that the city is steeped in rich, unique, and fascinating culture and history that has inspired artists of all generations.

Fresh from the LomoLab: My Summer at a Campsite

I prefer being outdoors whenever I go on a vacation at the seaside. For this reason, I always choose to stay at a campsite instead of a hotel. This year, I stayed at a beautiful one in the south of Italy. Here is a series of photos which I received a few days ago from the excellent LomoLab service, taken with my Sprocket Rocket. Have a look after the jump!

The Magic Yet To Come: Part 1

Here’s a random and rather mysterious tale for you folks. Just the other day, I was at a local bar with a few friends. It was much like any other evening; we were sipping a couple of cocktails, recounting our adventures, falling over ourselves with laughter and half-drunkenly meditating on the meaning of life (a scientist once told me it’s 42 by the way). But then something truly strange happened. Read on to hear my story and please make a comment with your guess at the end!

Creative Vision, Personified:The Community's Most Creative Lomographers

As Steve Jobs puts it, "creativity is just connecting things." It's all about tracing one's experiences and pushing the boundaries of what's already known to establish new things. The Lomography community is no stranger to these instances. In fact, the community is filled with brilliant minds who are always ready to refine existing techniques and look for innovative ways to express their visions and ideas. Here are just a few of the creative lomographers we've come to love over the years.

So here’s what we’ve been working on: an all new lomography.com

For the last year we've been working on the next version of Lomography. We based our work on the feedback you’ve given us over the years and we wanted to share it as early as possible with you and can’t wait to hear what you think. Just one warning first: it is still in development and things can break. All the photos, comments, likes, homes and everything else were transferred as of October 16th, 2014. So anything you do on next.lomography.com won't be reflected on www.lomography.com and vice versa. Once we are done with testing, everything you did here will be deleted again. So this is a big playground for you to explore.
