Ontayho Beach

4

Sudden quick trip to Guimaras Island once again, and I enjoyed a little stay over Ontayho Beach Resort!

Many of the people would love to visit Guimaras because of its famous mango… plus the beaches. But rarely did they know that on the other side of this big enormous island also lies a great spot where only a few dare to trek the wild.

Before reaching the Ontayho Resort, you have to cross Guimaras straight to the other side or you can ride a jeepney with a fare that reaches around 50 to 70 pesos. That’s quite cheap to some. For several minutes you’ll enjoy the sudden cold breeze! And later you’ll realize you’re getting far far away from where you once located.

Come in 30 or 40 minutes. You’re now witnessing a sudden change from green trees and landscape scenarios to open wide blue beaches! Here comes Ontayho Beach Resort! It’s a clean resort if I say (most of the tourists avoid dirty beaches well, who would like to have one?), and the maintenance and crew of the resort are very helpful to serve you.

The food is at its best, I say! There’s also a little nipa hut that kinda floats in the middle of the ocean — well somehow. Anyway, it’s a great place to relax. Too bad the moment we had our swimming time the sun was hiding somewhere behind the clouds. But it’s a great experience anyway! We enjoyed the foods, the scenarios, the experience, the fun and the beach!

I divide people who travel to Portugal into two groups: those who prefer Porto and those who like Lisbon better. I love Porto, it's a little gem, but if I ever lived in Portugal I'd choose Lisbon in a heartbeat. It's got everything big cities have while staying beautiful and romantic and the same time.

So here’s what we’ve been working on: an all new lomography.com

For the last year we've been working on the next version of Lomography. We based our work on the feedback you’ve given us over the years and we wanted to share it as early as possible with you and can’t wait to hear what you think. Just one warning first: it is still in development and things can break. All the photos, comments, likes, homes and everything else were transferred as of October 16th, 2014. So anything you do on next.lomography.com won't be reflected on www.lomography.com and vice versa. Once we are done with testing, everything you did here will be deleted again. So this is a big playground for you to explore.
