Since the world is world, cities grow and grow, and grow again. Some towns come to absorb other smaller that surround them. This is our life… That is what happened in Vigo during the last centuries. Bouzas is a part of Vigo, with its own history, but now part of this great city of Galicia.
Being a resident of Bouzas is a pride for anyone. From a lot of centuries ago, its history has been related to the sea. It can´t be otherwise. Despite the expansion of industrial zones (the port of loading and unloading of vehicles, shipbuilding and repair yards, …) you can still enjoy walks by the sea.
Bouzas have a small beach, not very clean (I´m sorry), because the funds of the banks are very muddy, but still has its charm and it is full of people when the warm weather arrives. When the boats come into the Vigo estuary, passing in front of Bouzas, they make sound with their horns. Within Bouzas, many small and narrow streets which take us back to times past. There, now you can see several good restaurants, where to eat all kinds of specialty food products from the sea (most of them from the Atlantic Sea). In areas where buildings have been expanded, there is a football stadium that has all its wall full of graffiti.
On Sundays, there is a small market near here, where you can buy everything: food, clothing, shoes, trinkets… From Monday to Friday, people passing by Bouzas comes and goes to work and on weekends, strolling, and children play on Sunday was a lot of people about the sale.
Bouzas is always crowded. If you like people and life, you will be bewitched with Bouzas.
