We're halfway into the LC-A's anniversary year! Here's an update on the daily dose of Lomogaphy you've been sharing with us!
We all love our LC-A. We feed it only the best films available, we take it everywhere we go and we tuck it in beside us when we sleep. It’s only right then that we pay special homage to our lovely friend on its 25th birthday! Its been a great year so far for our trusty Russian friend with fabulous parties exquisite flipbooks and even pretty postcards!
Half a year has passed already since we last asked about you uploading your lcadiary. Rest assured we haven’t forgotten about it! We’re anxiously awaiting each upload everyday as we count down to judging day for the best of the best! For now, here are some choice photos from our top uploaders! Don’t forget to check out their LC-A diary entries in the links and see what our contestants have been doing day by day!
Haven’t started yet? Not to worry! You can still join in as there’s 6 months more remaining in the contest. All you need to do is to tag images dedicated to that competition with “lcadiary” and don´t forget to name your camera (“lc-a” or lc-a+) when you´re uploading them to your beta- home. Images with camera “lc-a or lc-a+” and tagged “lcadiary” will then go straight into the gallery on the anniversary site. After tagging them, please don’t forget to create a dedicated album for your LC-A Diary as well! Check the original post for more info.
Your amazing contributions to the anniversary projects, be they gorgeous photos, or scintillating stories, will find their way into our special LC-A 25th anniversary touring exhibition which will culminate in a grand slam final event! So you better be ready!

In December last year James Wright, editor and creative director of So It Goes Magazine, went on a two-week trip to Sri Lanka, "a place so long on our bucket list, but up until then, as yet unvisited," he writes on the first of his three-part photo diary. Herein is the second part of his series that chronicles his adventures, highlighted by a selection of breathtaking images of the Sri Lankan countryside and the locals, among many other images, captured with his trusty photographic companions: the Leica MP, Lomo LC-A+, and an assortment of films including the LomoChrome Purple.

For the last year we've been working on the next version of Lomography. We based our work on the feedback you’ve given us over the years and we wanted to share it as early as possible with you and can’t wait to hear what you think. Just one warning first: it is still in development and things can break. All the photos, comments, likes, homes and everything else were transferred as of October 16th, 2014. So anything you do on next.lomography.com won't be reflected on www.lomography.com and vice versa. Once we are done with testing, everything you did here will be deleted again. So this is a big playground for you to explore.
Every year I get the winter blues. I start imagining the feel of the sunrays, ice cold beer after a long summer day, and the endless hours spent on the beach. I have captured moments, memories, and dreams this year, which is my favorite thing to do. This is a short version and visual diary of my year 2014.
Recently, we’ve been digging through all our LC-A 120 negatives from when we first started testing the new camera. During this search, we had our very own finding Vivian Maier moment when we unearthed a bunch of photos shot by the super-talented dopic whilst he was on vacation in Japan last year. We totally love these shots and couldn’t resist sharing them with you!
UK based Dutch Uncles released their fourth album titled “O Shudder” earlier this year. The band is composed of Pete Broadhead on guitar,
Andy Proudfoot on drums, Robin Richards on bass guitar, and Duncan Wallis on lead vocals and piano. They've been busy on tour and have been playing in various festivals around the UK, and documented these experiences with an LC-A camera.
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
Canadian-born Ian Taylor is a full-time photographer specializing in kids and development work. It all started when his five siblings started having children at the same time he was into photography. This passion then spiraled into something amazing, and now Ian works primarily with kids, shooting them when they are in their purest form. Based in Asia, Ian has agreed to share this amazing series of photos he shot with his Petzval Art Lens in Cambodia and Thailand. He also shared with us some of his insights and views on photography.
April is going to be packed with cool workshops and events for Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day and Film Photography Day. We’ve also been working with Treehouse Hawaii on a film swap and Jones Soda on a photo contest, and we’re going to be showcasing the photos at an awesome event at the store!
