Dali Chongsheng Temple (崇圣寺), Yunnan province, China

5

Walking in a beautiful scene behind the pagodas and hear how the monks pray.

Chongsheng temple complex, located just behind the Three Pagodas was (according to Wikipedia) the royal temple of the Kingdom of Dali and one of the largest Buddhist centers in south-east Asia.

Just go behind the pagodas and continue walking toward the mountains. You will pass through several Buddhist prayer halls (we had a chance to hear and watch the praying monks), finally reaching the building where all the temple complex, the pagodas, the old city and the Erhai Lake can be seen all at once!

We’ve been there on the first morning of the Chinese New Year, when tourists got an entrance discount and locals could get inside just for free. The place that was supposed to serve mainly as a tourist attraction had suddenly became real!

@vicuna: currently I am playing a lot with Diana telephoto lens. Truly oldskul chromatic aberrations worth to mention and to recommend to the others (sorry for a little bit of marketing from a personal point of view)
