My Analogue Bucket List for 2012: Analogue Aspirations

8

To get the most out of the Year of the Dragon, I'm making this bucket list to help me aim high and focus on what I want to accomplish this year. Hello 2012, What do you have in store for me?

As a new guy, I have a lot of aspirations. This list will, hopefully, help me reach those aspirations. Let’s start off, shall we?

1. Shoot More and Travel More
I usually get lazy to get out on weekends because of work on weekdays. I guess that’s normal, but for this year, I hope to get the motivation to go out, hone my skills, and shoot more. Go to festivals, exhibits, events, or even just a random walk outside of my village. I hope to improve on the quality of my photos too, not just the quantity.

2. Get New Camera/s and Films
I’m itching to finally get an LC-A+ so that I could shoot day and night without having to bring one of my two bulky cameras with adjustable exposure settings.

After a taste of Velvia, I’ve been longing for more. So, I hope to get and shoot more rolls this year; I’m not limiting myself to shooting Velvia; I’ll explore more films like X-Pro 200, Tungsten and XR 50-200, and their 120 counterparts.

3. Be Able to Quickly Decide on Which Camera to Bring
This is one of my main problems when it comes to packing. I don’t know which camera to bring! Sometimes, I just go for the differences in lens and sometimes I go for the features (settings, etc). How do you choose yours?

4. Get a New Lens for my Canon EOS Rebel K2

I’ve been eyeing this great 50mm f/1.8 EF lens for my Rebel K2, and I’m planning to save up for it after my expenses this month. It’s really affordable compared to the other lenses, plus it has a really wide aperture AND it’s light and compact!

5. Be a Part of an Exhibit
I’ve joined rumbles that would include my picture in Lomowalls in another country. I had luck in a few rumbles:

I want to see the LomoWalls first-hand but that would cost a lot since i’d have to fly out of the country. Haha. If an opportunity presents itself in the form of a local exhibit, I would love to join or at least help!

6. Be Featured as a LomoHome of the Day
It would be a dream come true! Plus, it would inspire me to take good, if not better, photos and it would also inspire me to improve! It’d require improvement in the first place, of course, to be featured. I’ll do what I do and hope for the best, I hope I get featured this year!

7. Win a Major Prize in a Competition
What’s better than to win free items? Right? I’ve won few things in my whole lifespan, and winning a major prize in a rumble would mean a huge deal! It doesn’t come easy, of course; I’d have to join a rumble and do my best at shooting the theme then try my luck. No matter how hard it may be, it’s in my bucket list.

The list ends there, for now. How about you? What are your lomo-related goals for this year?

Let’s make 2012 a year full of creativity and analogue love! If you liked this article, go ahead and check the rest of analogue bucket lists for 2012 submitted by the community! Of course, you can also submit your own inspiring analogue bucket list for 2012 and get more piggies!

#3 is always a tough one for me. I get so indecisive, that I end up packing several cameras and a plethora of film. I'd be interested to hear how others select theirs as well.
