My Analogue Bucket List for 2012: Going Wild With the LC-Wide

12

Welcome 2012, goodbye 2011! Say hello to the new year! So here we are in the year 2012 and I say I have to do some resolutions and a declaration for myself by making an analogue bucket list. Let's shout together, "2012!".

2012

1. The Wide Diary
Do you all still remember back at 2009, Lomography’s Lomo LC-A Diary competition? Oh well, I remember it so I will continue it but this time using the LC-Wide, The Wide Diary! I decided to initiate this idea because on November I was so bored with the academic stuff on my university so I shoot everything that is around me using the LC-Wide and the Kodak Colorplus ISO 200. Then on the 2nd of January, I decided to start The Wide Diary. The Wide Diary : January album is on my LomoHome. You can check it out!

2. Continue “We Gonna Hit The Street” Project
I started this project in 2011 and have seven albums of it but when I started my post-graduate study in July, this project went on hiatus. So in 2012, I will continue to hit the street of Bandung! Beware Bandung People! Haha!

We Gonna Hit The Street!

3. Doubles with adi_totp
I love doubles! I love it so much! Oh well, I did some lovely doubles in 2011 with talented lomographers in the community and I just can’t stop it! It’s too much fun! To kick off 2012, atria007 sent me a roll film from Madrid and the result were surprisingly great. This 2012, I will continue to collaborate and do doubles with lomographers around the world. Are you in? Just send me a PM on my LomoHome!

4. Go to India or China
Last year, I went on an analogue trip with panjihardjakaprabon, shielladwnd and ngoki to Mount Bromo. That was a great great trip! Wohooo! So I said to myself “Go somewhere far from Indonesia”. I always wanted to go to India and China. I don’t know why. There is something about India and China that makes me want to go there. I will bring my cameras with me, of course! Hopefully I make it to India or China in 2012.

5. To shoot more, more, more and more!
Shoot more, more, more and more! I will shoot more and more on 2012, that’s a promise to myself. I enjoy every moment when I shoot with the LC-Wide because right now I’m free and just waiting for the new semester! I will take my cameras and go on an outing On sunny day or rainy day. Let’s go outing and shoot like crazy! I hope will shoot more moments with the LC-Wide because I just discovered that the LC-Wide can be taken seriously and is perfect for shooting portraits. Oh just wait and see, I’m going more wild with the LC-Wide! Hahahaha! (Evil Laughter)

This article is also a reminder for me that I made an analogue bucketlist for 2012. Maybe I will add more to the list. I don’t know, but for sure these 5 resolutions will guide me through 2012!

From The Lens Lickers, Adi and his girlfriend

PS. I was listening to Death Cab for Cutie – Stay Young, Go Dancing while writing this article. Yes! Stay Young, Go Dancing, people!

Let’s make 2012 a year full of creativity and analogue love! If you liked this article, go ahead and check the rest of analogue bucket lists for 2012 submitted by the community! Of course, you can also submit your own inspiring analogue bucket list for 2012 and get more piggies!

12 Months, 12 Projects: February - Nighttime Traffic

My list of resolutions for 2015 consists of 12 projects, one for every month. In February, I wanted to take one of those long exposure night shots of traffic. You know the type: nighttime cityscape, with bright red and white stripes where traffic passes. I love those shots, but I had never gotten around taking one.

    Registering Moments With the Lomo'Instant

Some people say instant photos bring about a feeling of nostalgia. Although I often use the Lomo'Instant Camera with different crazy accessories such as the Splitzer and color gels, I have to agree there is something about it — dreamy vignettes maybe? — that always makes me want to go back in time and experience it all over again. In the name of analogue photography and good old memories, we passed by some classic spots in Vienna and took one shot after the other. Take a closer look at our gallery.

    Giles Clement: The Wayfaring Tintyper

Reminiscent of traveling photographers of the 19th century, Giles Clement tours through the country with his assistant, Zeiss (an Irish Terrier), offering everything from portrait sessions to wildly creative photographic projects for magazines and companies. And although his mode of transportation may have evolved with the times, his photographic method and gear have changed very little compared to the photographers of days past. Now, with over 3 years of tintyping experience under his belt and an impressive list of clients, he's carved a name out for himself as an accomplished tintyper and continues to spread his passion for this ages-old technique everywhere he goes.

One of the things that make a trip to a far-flung place truly memorable is getting the chance to interact with the locals and share fun moments with them. My list of resolutions for 2015 consists of 12 projects, one for every month. March was for caffenol. You have probably heard of the amazing fact that you can develop black and white photos with coffee, sodium, and vitamin C. I had tried this before but with less than stellar results. Somehow, there's always something going wrong. Time to devote a few rolls to caffenol to finally get the hang of it.

My wife and I suffered a family loss in October 2013 so we decided to shift things around and have a celebration of life—a wedding, actually—to associate our loss with the beginning of something positive and memorable. We have been together for nearly 13 years and after getting married, we headed off on a three-month trip to South America and a few other stops to complete a round-the-world loop back to Australia.

    LomoAmigo: Courtney Barnett

Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett sings about the frustrations, disappointments and the mundane aspects of life in her own animated and sometimes Dylan-esque style. Her debut album "Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit" was released this year and has been getting positive reviews. We tweeted about her new album and she responded to say that she loved Lomography. It was the perfect opportunity for a shoot and an interview.
