In the "Bullring" monument in Barcelona, we went into a shop we have seen before in other countries (including London, UK) but have never before visited. We couldn't have picked a better night for this.
We stumbled upon this shopping centre by accident, in a desperate search for a winter hat one cold evening of our trip. People kept telling us to visit “La Monumental”, which in the end we did. This building itself is magnificent and well worth a look on a dark evening.
Then we wandered into a clothing store named ‘Desigual’, which can only be described as having an industrial, hippy, ethnic, recycled, and funky sort of vibe. The clothes in there are quite expensive, but are all so individual looking that I think it is definitely worth paying a bit extra for. Then there is the excellent design of the store itself – really well laid out with fab accessories to display items on.
Luckily for us, on the night we were there, the staff were trying to promote their store card type thing, and although we did not want to sign up for one, we were still allowed to visit the in-store bartender for a free mojito cocktail. Usually not a fan of rum myself, I decided to try one after watching the barman so painstakingly make it all from scratch (and chuck half a cup of rum in each glass!)
This was a lovely touch, and something I doubt shops in England would bother with. This made our last night in Barcelona really special, fun, and tasty.
