For Dave's birthday, which is the week before Christmas, we took a trip to Liverpool and inevitably ended up in search of Chinese food during the evening. Then we found Chow's House and a lovely feast was had by all.
Despite my initial fears about eating after a place with the word Chow in the title (thinking of Chow in The Hangover movie and his suggestion of what to suck on!) we decided on this place in Liverpool’s Chinatown after a brief wander up and down.
Chow’s House was worryingly empty when we got inside but they did a good two-person feast for about £30 so we got over that quickly and sat down to order. The staff were really super friendly and it was quite nice that it was so empty because we could have a laugh and not worry about annoying anyone else. We started with soup, prawn crackers, mixed starter (ribs, spring rolls etc) and then we got two different mains to share. This was all a bit of a bargain as there would have been enough food to feed at least three people in total. As we were eating, the place did get a wee bit busier, but in all honesty, apart from the slightly dated decor, I can’t fault this place at all and recommend anyone to give it a try.
If you happen to be in Liverpool’s Chinatown and are struggling to make that all important decision, then call in and visit Mr Chow – I promise there won’t be any nuts in sight!
