The Day I Fell in Love with My LC-Wide

9

I’m going to tell you how I fell in love with one of the stars cameras of Lomography, the LC-W camera. Since the first time I saw it and held it in my hands, I knew it was going to be my favorite camera.

I had been saving Piggies for long, because I wanted to have a great discount on an LC-A camera. Until then, all my lomographs weren’t good for me, because in many cases, my photos were just blurry and dark. I think that some Lomography cameras are “hard” to use and you need time and practice to learn how to use them correctly.

I had seen that the LC-A and LC-W gave people great results, of course, because they have light meters. So, in a way, it’s a camera for dummies, but the results are spectacular. I started to save piggies for it, and when I finally had it on my hands (the package came from Vienna!), I was surprised! The package was so heavy! I think the first thing I said when I opened the box was WOW!!! Inside was another box made of black wood, with Russian style on it.

I always say that as a graphic design student I love and I appreciate all Lomography products. However, the LC-W is something spectacular, every inch of it is well-thought of, although the camera is made following the design of the original LC-A. In some way, I think it’s a cool camera for Lomographers because they appreciate the facet that it represents the beginning of this whole movement; it’s a symbol.

Well, every inch of LC-W package and its content are carefully thought of. There are 2 books that I love, they’re great! The paper which was used to wrap the camera is has a nice design too. The two little cans with films inside…everything has been thought of by Lomography!

Here you can see some photos I took during the unboxing:

But if I was initially happy with it, I have to admit that after using it I confirmed that I love it. As of the moment, I’ve only used a Lomography X Tungsten 64 35mmn film, but the results are great. They’re amazing and I think it gives me what I was looking for in this world, in the Lomography world. Sharp photos, double exposures, cool focus…and it’s so easy to use! I love it!

It’s also so compact, you can carry it in your pocket or bag. It’s not made of plastic, so you don’t have that feeling that you need to protect it with your life. The wide angle, I find it really funny, it must be used even when it’s going to deform people’s faces! That’s the fun of it, and that you can capture street scenes entirely! I think it’s another concept of the camera, because you can play but in a more serious way. I recommend this camera to all Lomographers out there. I think it’s the best in the list of major Lomography products!

The Lomo LC-Wide boasts the newly-developed 17mm Minigon Ultra-Wide Angle lens. This 35mm camera wonder is the perfect companion for your photo expeditions. It produces eye-catching splashes of colour with astonishing saturation and contrasts with the added versatility of 3 different formats. Open up to a new photographic experience with the LC-Wide, available in our Shop.

@louwest I couldn't solve this problem. I don't mind because I bought it with all my piggie points, but If you've bought it in a shop, or you live near one, I'd recommend you to go and explain them the problem

@louwest I think there's no solution for this problem, just they should give you a new cable! (I think)

Lomography Fisheye No.2: Seven Years of Wonder

Exactly seven years ago, I bought this camera from Indonesia's local Lomography community. I remember having some savings in my bank account and just spending it all on this camera. At that time, I browsed the microsite for the Lomography Fisheye No.2 and immediately fell in love with it! Coincidentally, my friend who introduced me to Lomography just bought this same camera for his birthday. My life has changed ever since I had the Fisheye, my first lomographic camera.

Summer Hot Spots: Blaavand, Denmark (Part Two)

When I was a child, I regularly went to Blaavand, located at the Danish west coast, with my brothers and parents. I stopped going there as I grew up. In 2012 however, we hit the road again. It was my first return visit in about 20 years. I took the chance and packed as many cameras as possible into my luggage. In part two of my journey log, I'm going to show you the pictures I took with my Lomography cameras.

Pushing Boundaries: Multiple Exposing Film Soup

As you may have read in my previous article, I truly fell in love with Lomography when I combined my Fisheye camera with an old Canon AE-1 for magical photographic results. Last summer, I took so many pictures of flowers that it started to become almost boring for me. My waning interest and the coming winter meant that I had to figure out something else to do with my 35mm film.

Perhaps you’ve already had chance to try light painting, multiple exposures and long exposures with your Lomo’Instant, but what can you experiment with next? Well, that’s exactly the thought I had which led to giving this Tipster a go. I wanted to shoot Lomo’Instant photos which felt a bit “messier” than what I’m usually used to and to use a technique which would open up new possibilities with the kinds of images I could create with my favorite instant camera. The World According to Herr Willie: Olympiastadion Berlin

The 2015 UEFA Champions League Final will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on June 6. It is a place full of history and is also the only football stadium with a blue track course. Some say it is the most beautiful stadium in the world, and I totally agree with them. But then agai,n I might be biased because it is the home court of my favorite team, Hertha BSC Berlin—my blue-white bloodline.
