Christmas is fast approaching so get your cameras ready to shoot some awesome holiday shots. There are a lot of things that you can shoot and here are a few tips that can help you!
Bring your camera with you wherever you go
This holiday rush, you might be busy doing all sorts of last minute preparations for Christmas. This does not mean that you won’t have time to snap some shots. Take time to look around and see if there are interesting subjects that you can capture. You can do this while doing your Christmas shopping, preparing a holiday feast or wrapping presents!
Set up a photo booth
If you’re planning a Christmas party, it might be fun to set up your own photo booth! All you need is a tripod and your favourite camera and you’re all set! Take photos of your guests as they arrive at the party. Make sure you prepare loads of film for this one!
Know your focal point
Often, Christmas shots become too cluttered since there are so many elements that you want to include in your photo. A good tip is to focus on one particular subject per photo. For instance, if you want to take a photo of a Christmas tree, use that as the focal point and compose your photo around that. Try not to put all the elements in one photo, unless that’s what you’re going for.
Capture rare moments
Shoot your friends and relatives in action – opening presents, preparing food, dancing or decorating the tree. These are rare moments that you can easily capture. You can use the SuperSampler or Actionsampler to capture your subject’s movement.
Take photos of yourself
Often, we forget to take photos of ourselves since we are busy taking photos of other people. Don’t let this happen! Take a few photos of yourself with your friends and family. You’ll be glad you did!
