How did you find out about the community and who/what convinced you to join?

My first week in New York City was full of ‘WOW’,’WOW’ and “WOW!!’, not for the Statue of Liberty nor the Empire State Building but for the people. They all come from different places and have their own distinctive character. When together, they create such a great scene for hitting your shutter button. So I started finding a camera that is small and fast enough for this hurried city. Luckily, on the way to my school, there was a Lomography store. After passing it everyday for two weeks, I finally I got my little cute LC-A+ in on hand : )

Is there anyone in the Lomographic Society you look up to? If yes, who is him/her and why?

I’m a fan of hodachome. He always comes up with stunning landscape photos. I often look at his pictures slowly frame by frame. That’s kinda relaxing moment for a guy like me who has to walk through this messy city everyday.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

As a street photographer, rule #5 is quite important for me. Getting very close to your subject surprises you. Just smiling and being nice, you would know that people are friendlier than you think.

In this digital age, why still film?

Simply, digital cannot give you the magic moment. The moment that you pick up your film at the lab, hold the film toward light and see something fascinating.

Share your current favorite Lomograph (could be yours or a friend’s) and explain why it is your favorite.

The latest one that I just hit the like button on is this picture It is amazing and a bit abstract. The picture you love will always makes you wanna pop up at that situation.

Newbie, rookie, neophyte or whatever you call them, our new breed of the ever-growing band of Lomographers are set to conquer the analogue land with their brand new hip-shooting abilities! And this is where we feature them along with their wistful thoughts and the freshest snaps each week!

Nothing Happens on Color Film: Street Life in Como As Seen From the Bus

Some weeks ago, I made a tribute to the great photographer Robert Frank and his 1958 black and white series taken in New York from a bus window. He is the master of the ordinary moments, capturing the essence of daily life in a series of free and random sequence of photos where nothing important happens! And as I've written there I wanted to take a similar experiment with color film, which would change the perception of the environment where people live. Read more after the jump!
