Recap of Lesson 2 in the School of Lomography London: Shooting Session

With only 4 lessons in the school, it's tough to try and ram all the cameras and techniques into such a short space of time HOWEVER, all the students took to the challenege and began their second lesson learning a lot about the Sprocket Rocket and LC-A+ cameras!

We began the lesson in store with a crash course in using the Sprocket Rocket with a roll of super slick B&W film. Then we moved straight on to the mighty LCA+. We all them made our way the tube station and hoped on the train to southbank….

After taking lots of notes and asking a few questions we all headed out into the sunshine to put all that learning into action. There was so much to snap that everyone quickly ran off in all directions.

It was clear they’d paid attention as they all shot doubles, close ups, self portraits and floor shots. We re-grouped at our meeting point to rewind our films and talk about what we’d manage to capture.
We had so much fun that we ended the day with a great big jump for joy!

Lomo In-Depth: Do you need a photography degree?

Lomography is a network of working photographers and serious hobbyists. It gives equal space to both clusters; after all craft is the main attraction, whether it is Mark Andersen’s thoughtful framing or Hodachrome’s vibrant doubles. And when technique and skill are the topic, questions about the photographer’s training also crop up.

    Registering Moments With the Lomo'Instant

Some people say instant photos bring about a feeling of nostalgia. Although I often use the Lomo'Instant Camera with different crazy accessories such as the Splitzer and color gels, I have to agree there is something about it — dreamy vignettes maybe? — that always makes me want to go back in time and experience it all over again. In the name of analogue photography and good old memories, we passed by some classic spots in Vienna and took one shot after the other. Take a closer look at our gallery.
