One night, 45 museums and a whopping amount of 226 activities - it's time for this year's Museum Night (also known as Museumn8). We've worked together with the Jewish Historical Museum to bring you a unique program consisting of two interactive activities and a whole lot of Lomography! Wanna know more? Read on!
_Museumn8_ is a well known phenomenon among Dutch culture lovers. Almost every museum in Amsterdam opens it’s doors during this first Saturday of Novemver and each one of them has organised a special program. At the Jewish Historical Museum, this year’s theme is New York. The museum hosts an exhibition of works by American photographer and painter Saul Leiter (1923) and a bunch of New York-themed activities, and of course Lomography is present as well!
Activity 1 – Lomography Scavenger Hunt
The Lomography Museumn8 program consists of two parts. The first activity is a so-called scavenger hunt. Every visitor gets a loaner camera and a roll of film of his or her choice and gets to take part in the hunt. Participants get a list of targets – all related to the New York theme – that they have to photograph during the night. You get points for every target and with your pictures as proof, you have the chance to win some awesome Lomography goodies! Get more info at the Lomography stand at the Jewish Historical Museum.
Activity 2 – Let the magic begin…
Thursday November 3 – exactly two days before Museumn8 – the Lomography Gallery Stores worldwide will host the biggest Lomography premiere ever! Of course our Lomography Gallery Store Amsterdam also joins in the festivities. During this premiere we will launch a unique and magical new Lomography product and OF COURSE we will be working with this pretty little gizmo during Museumn8! Check this article for more information on the launch party. But what exactly will be going on during Museumn8? You’ll just have to wait and see, but we’ve already prepared the set, the director’s chair, the lighting and the costumes!
Museumn8 New York Photo Rumble
Last but definitely not least, we, together with the Jewish Historical Museum will be giving away this awesome prize: 3 Museumn8 passe-partouts, a La Sardina camera with a flash of your choice and two 3packs of Lomography film. Join the rumble to win! Not only will three winners get all the goodies mentioned above, they also get to be part of the official Lomography CREW during Museumn8, as a LomoReporter! Wanna join in?
