The Diana World Tour Stop in Porto

11

The Diana world tour reaches Europe with its first stop in Porto. Read more about the event here.

Among the hits of the night for the first European stop of the Diana World Tour was the wonderful Detrich Collection on display alongside a presentation of no less than 12 customized Diana cameras by our close friends and artists:

  • Isaque Pinheiro
  • Joana Bértholo
  • Jordi Burch
  • Manuel Amaral Netto
  • Márcio Barcelos
  • Marco Sousa Santos
  • Nuno Coelho
  • Paulo Pimenta
  • Ricardo Galésio
  • Soraya Vasconcelos
  • Teresa Amaral
  • Vivóeusébio

The cheery on top for the night must of been the moment that we handled the excited Diana World Tour Winner, Jorge Peneda, a Diana Deluxe kit.

If you are in the area please visit us in our Lomography Embassy until the 30th of March. If for some reason or other you can not make it there until then we will also host the exhibition in our Lisbon Embassy from the 3rd of April onwards!

Be sure to catch the workshops hosted by Natalie Zwillinger

Porto – 28th march
Lisboa -11th april and 18th april

The European Dream - Selfies from Oranienplatz: Exhibition in Berlin

In more ways than one, Lomography is an art form as much as it is an effective tool to communicate. This is proven in the politically-driven exhibition “Selfies from Oranienplatz," of which the opening event will be taking place on the 16th of October as part of the European Month of Photography in Berlin. Solar Eclipses and Beyond

The skies were busy with magic today — or maybe it was just the solar eclipse that caused all that ruckus? Decked out in space-age goggles and other various sun viewing paraphernalia, groups of people gathered as the moon moved between the sun and the earth this morning across Europe. Only a few lucky folks witnessed the total eclipse, and here at Vienna HQ, the greatest moment of the partial eclipse happened at 10:45 A.M. and lasted only a few minutes. We stopped everything we were doing to join the sky watchers crew and share in this astonishing moment. Check out these brilliant solar-inspired shots to celebrate the occasion!

'Aniki-Bòbò': A Tribute to Manoel De Oliveira

This article is a tribute to the great Portuguese film director Manoel de Oliveira, who died last April 2. With an old Praktica loaded with a roll of black and white film, I captured so enthusiastically his city Oporto (Porto) with its famous Ribeira district, the most characteristic of the Lusitanian town. It was here that more than 70 years ago, Manoel De Oliveira created a timeless masterpiece: "Aniki-Bòbò"!
