All you analogue enthusiasts be prepared! Westlicht Photographica has announced its 20th auction of rare and interesting analogue equipment! The auction will be held on 12th of November, so if you’re in Vienna at that time, this event is a must!
The items that will be present at the WestLicht event are very rare cameras featuring Leica, Hasselblad, Exaktar, Contax Jena, Polaroid and much more. There will also be rare photographs taken by artists such as Berenice Abbott, Richard Avedon, Henri-Cartier Bresson, Robert Capa, Robert Doisneau, Elliott Erwitt, Wilhelm von Gloeden, Philippe Halsman, Horst P. Horst, Germaine Krull, Mary Ellen Mark, Helmut Newton, August Sander, Jan Saudek , Bert Stern, Josef Sudek and Paul Wolf. Here are some of the photos that will be auctioned.
One of the highlights of the camera auction is the Leica Model A, with calfskin body-cover (LEANEKALB) with brown chequered pattern estimated at 28,000-32,000 Euros. This particular model was produced in 180 examples in 1930/31.
You will also find two special edition models of the Leica M3-P chrome + Noctilux 0.95/50mm chrome in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Leica Shop in Vienna, estimated at 25,000-30,000 Euros.
Other interesting items are the Leica UW Underwater housing from 1970 estimated at 20,000-25,000 Euros and an extremely rare complete outfit of the Chinese M4 copy (less than 200 were produced by direct order of the government, none were sold to the public), estimated at 25,000-30,000 Euros.
There will also be a preview of the auction between 03.11.2011 and 12.11.2011 (10.00-18.00). The actual auction will take place on 12.11.2011, the camera auction will start at 11.00 and the photo auction at 18.00.
