Please tell us a little about yourself…
Well, there’s not much to say really. Just that I’m a student that happened to come across Lomography and instantly fell in love with it! Lomography really has changed my attitude towards things; I try to be more analogue, not only with cameras but with everything.

How would you describe the LomoKino in 5 words?
The LomoKino is old school.

What’s your favorite feature of the LomoKino and why?
What I love most about the LomoKino is probably, well, I don’t know. That’s a hard one. It could be the whole idea, having that cool effect in your films, that kind of old and funky touch! Or the fact that you can get a movie and photos in one!! I mean even if your movie doesn’t turn out too great! You always have a singular, (or 4 if you scan that way) shot! And I absolutely love the format of the photos. Its kind of wide, something like a Horizon camera!

What LomoKino movie would you most like to shoot?
I would absolutely love to shoot a movie whilst on a Roller Coaster. Seems kind of boring and not very creative maybe, but I have always wanted to capture the feeling of being on a Roller Coaster! It’s really hard to explain in words, even in one photo. And if you get it all like the live experience that would be so amazing! And to be able to get it as an analogue movie would give it another great touch I think! It would just be kind of hard to do on a really extreme Roller Coaster seeing as you would have to turn the handle bar on the side and try to keep steady. But a girl can dream right…?

If you could give the LomoKino to one other Director, who would it be?
Choices, choices, choices!! I think it would be Woody Allen. His movies always have something special – From the colors to the theme to the angle that is being filmed at – His films are always intriguing…if you ask me at least. And I do think he would use it in a creative yet still somehow sensible way! And if he would decline my offer, Tim Burton would definitely be second in line!

Do you have any advice for LomoKino newcomers?
The LomoKino really is very different to any other Lomography camera so far! Not only from technique but also from its concept. I thought it was quite hard switching from capturing moments in one single shot to capturing whole scenes! So get to know the camera first! Take some test rolls; don’t just go ahead and make what you think would be a great movie! It’s really not an easy camera to use, but if you know what to expect you can work with it better.

And another thing is lighting conditions. From personal experience I would have to say, make sure you are in a light, well-lit sunny area! I twice tried filming in shadier spots and did not get pleasing results…and of course just try to make it fun! I love that old school look the LomoKino can give, and how funny you look when turning the handle bar at the side, and people start staring at you thinking what on earth?

Bringing analogue back to the movies with a bang in the 21st century, the LomoKino is a Lomography movie camera that shoots spectacular, creative movies on all kinds of 35mm film. Head to the Microsite, watch some Movies and begin your analogue movie-making journey today!
