Say hello to Monika Mitterdorfer a.k.a. "agrimony", one of our Lubitel lovers whose passion is analogue photography (not a surprise!).
1. How long have you been a Lomographer? How did you get into it?
I’m a Lomographer since a very long time. I read about those two Austrian students who bought the Lomo-factory in the newspaper and was fascinated by their marketing strategy – making a cult out of something which was moribund. I think it was in 1998 when I got my first LC-A. Three years later I became a member of the online Lomography community. Since then I became more and more involved in analogue photography and it is now a very important part in my life. I never leave my home without at least one camera. (isn’t this rule number 1?)
2. Write a Lubitel acrostic (each letter in Lubitel spells out a new word)
T ime box
3. The strangest, funniest, or hands-down greatest photographic/Lomographic encounter that you have ever had.
One of the strangest “adventures” I remember was when I was in Berlin together with my Horizon. I never thought that people living in a big city could be so irritated by no more than a strange looking camera making a strange noise. I wonder how people would react when I go on a journey with my Lubitel :-D!
Our Newcomer of the Week found an awe-inspiring similarity between the art of analogue photography and Arabic calligraphy, two of the things he is completely interested in. Hear it from our passionate newbie from Bulgaria, shinikov!

Lubitel for lovers+. You're probably wondering, "Why is there a '+'?" It's to describe and expand a whole new definition of the Lubitel - in this case, this camera is not only for lovers literally, but also for anyone who loves to shoot portraits, street scenes, objects, and the skies. Do you love to take photos of your lover, your dear friend, your lovely family, your pet, or at the streets? This camera can be used in ALL situations. You can shoot everything that you love with it!
Some people say instant photos bring about a feeling of nostalgia. Although I often use the Lomo'Instant Camera with different crazy accessories such as the Splitzer and color gels, I have to agree there is something about it — dreamy vignettes maybe? — that always makes me want to go back in time and experience it all over again. In the name of analogue photography and good old memories, we passed by some classic spots in Vienna and took one shot after the other. Take a closer look at our gallery.
So Spring has officially sprung! Say hello to brighter and longer days. The dark (and freezing) ones are finally behind and in order to celebrate that a new motto takes place in our lives: The more color the better! Colorsplashing totally changes our mood and the endless possibilities of compositions have never been so fun! Click through to dive into this vibrant and surreal pool after the jump.
This article is dedicated to Serge Moulinier, a largely unknown French photographer who won one of the most important prizes in France with a book on Greek architecture. Strangely, little information can be found on the Internet about this great photographer whose work had also been published in an important essay written by the famous John Szarkowski, former Director of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Kevin Meredith, more popularly known as LomoKev, is a photographer based in Brighton, England who gained notoriety for his use of the Lomo LC-A and his lomographic style of creating images. Aside from a plethora of personal and commercial projects, he has also conducted workshops on photography, written and published photography-related books, and participated in a few exhibits. With his evident passion for photography, it comes as no surprise that he was selected to test a prototype of the New Petzval 58 Bokeh Control Art Lens.
In 2013, musician Obi Blanche became a passionate Lomographer and photography enthusiast. Since then, he's always been eager to test the latest additions to the roster of Lomography cameras, and one particular camera that caught his attention is the LC-A 120.
