My favourite place to shop when I am at home in Leeds is the White Rose retail park on the outskirts of the city. It isn't as large as in some cities, but it houses all my favourite shops and I can always guarantee I will come out with something.
The White Rose Shopping Centre is located south of Leeds city centre, just off the M621 and not too far away from Elland Road Football Stadium. It is easiest to get to if you have a car, and there is ample parking there, which is free of charge. There are a couple of buses that run from the city centre but I am not sure which ones, where they leave from or how regular they are. You can get bus directions at their website.
It is a lot smaller than Manchester’s Trafford Centre or Sheffield’s Meadowhall, and has far less shops than they do. I like this however, as it means I can pop there for an hour or two, go to all the places I like and not go too spend crazy. It has a Primark, Dorothy Perkins, Debenhams, Schuh, Pandora, Boots, WH Smith, HMV, Jack Jones, Accessorize, Monsoon, Wallis, and New Look amongst many, many others. It also houses a great little food court, with foods to suit all tastes and all sizes of purse.
This is a perfect location in winter, when the rain and snow make shopping in the city centre a logistical nightmare. But I also love it in the heat of summer, with it’s huge glass ceiling and air conditioning, it is great for a cool down when the heat of the midday sun becomes too much.
