I Saw the Sign Rumble Winner Announcement

26

Whatever it is, a mixture of official and added on things can be a great juxtaposition, as our new winner mizzfonky shows with her photo - pretty mischievous, but also a contrast with the buildings!

Some people call it street rebellion, some people call it art, some call it renegade reactions to societal dictates, some people can’t get enough of it. Whatever it is, a mixture of official and added on things can be a great juxtaposition, as our new winner mizzfonky shows with her photo – pretty mischievous, but also a contrast with the buildings!

Congratulations to our winner and please check your e-mail soon for details on the next theme selection!

Glastonbury As Seen Through the New Petzval 85 Lens by Taio Konishi

The Glastonbury Festival is arguably one of the most anticipated and renowned music festivals in the world. It is a joy to be able to watch it, and a privilege to capture scenes on and off stage. Apart from creating beautiful portraits, the Petzval Lens is great for adding an albeit subtle drama to the already spectacular scenes of music festivals. Japanese photographer Taio Konishi photographed this year's Glastonbury with a Petzval 85mm Lens, and here are some of the photos. He also talks about his Petzval-meets-Glastonbury experience in this exclusive.

A Salute to the Masters: Paestum (A Tribute to Serge Moulinier)

This article is dedicated to Serge Moulinier, a largely unknown French photographer who won one of the most important prizes in France with a book on Greek architecture. Strangely, little information can be found on the Internet about this great photographer whose work had also been published in an important essay written by the famous John Szarkowski, former Director of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Angela Izzo on Shooting with the Diana Mini, Photographing Musicians, and Then Some

While many of us can only dream of working with musicians and photographing them, Angela Izzo's job entails exactly that. Apparently, this is a fulfillment of her own dream that she had when she was younger. In this interview, Izzo talks about her beginnings which, of course, included going to as many shows and festivals as she possibly can; some of her most memorable on-the-job-experiences with the likes of The Doors, Lykke Li, Jack White, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and Chris Robinson Brotherhood; her inspirations and other interests; and her love for film photography and Diana Mini. And to those looking into fulfilling their own dreams of working in the same industry, Izzo also shares helpful advice based on her own experiences.

    Giles Clement: The Wayfaring Tintyper

Reminiscent of traveling photographers of the 19th century, Giles Clement tours through the country with his assistant, Zeiss (an Irish Terrier), offering everything from portrait sessions to wildly creative photographic projects for magazines and companies. And although his mode of transportation may have evolved with the times, his photographic method and gear have changed very little compared to the photographers of days past. Now, with over 3 years of tintyping experience under his belt and an impressive list of clients, he's carved a name out for himself as an accomplished tintyper and continues to spread his passion for this ages-old technique everywhere he goes.
