My Analogue Childhood

Sometimes, I let myself go between adhesive corners, sticky paper and the unique old photo albums smell. This time I’ll let you dive with me into this special pond of analogue memories and kind of…secret.

I’ve always liked to lose myself with the old photo albums enchantments. It feels really good to catch up with memories the old school way. It reveals secrets. It can make us understand a lot of things about ourselves and about what still makes us laugh. This time I took it a little further and I’ve backed till my baby photo albums.

Since I can remember myself, as a little one, I always picture my father with his cameras. While an enthusiast, he is still nowadays an analogue photographer. I think that he just believes more in film or maybe it’s merely true love.

As a child I grew up with a close relationship with nature. As an adult I realized how that can be important in a growing up process. I feel extremely lucky because I could spend my time between fresh air, the smell of trees and animals with all the freedom. Flipping through the albums, it was amazing to find out (or remember) throughout my childhood, I’ve been surrounded by puppies, which maybe explains the great love that I have for animals and specially for dogs.

I’m a summer person. Some theories sustain that the month of your birth has a lot to do with your unconditional love for some specific season. Not that I don’t like cold…I simply hate it. And, therefore, I’m a beach-sea-sand-blue sky-sun passionate!

Still browsing, I also realized that my mother was right about her fashion theories. We had a lot of discussions while I was growing up, mainly as a teenager. I grew up with two boys, my brothers, so at young age I became a little tomboy fighting against that doll look. In these days, my favorite pictures are the ones with those 80s clothes that I used to hate and mainly the ones made by my mother.

Now, you know a little bit more about me, at least something that has to be with my personality.
