AVILON ZOO adopted the motto: Celebrating Life! to symbolize its philosophy. Life is precious and every living creature on Earth has a right to live --- freely and fully. We should learn from them and help in our own ways to protect and conserve the environment.
Avilon Zoo, literally means “Bird Land” (aves meaning bird & lon for land), which is so evident with their wide collection of birds big & small alike. But, Avilon is not just about birds. They boast of being the biggest zoo in the land & third in the world, the vicinity measures 7.5 hectares. According to their official website, it has a large exhibit of more than 3,000 specimens of exotic and endemic animals represented by more than 600 species of birds, mammals, reptiles, fishes and invertebrates, and close to 400 species of plants, of which more than 50% are Philippine endemics. It is one of the zoos in Southeast Asia having the most diverse representation of flora and fauna.
Avilon Zoo is located in Bo. San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal (formerly Montalban), which took us about an hour drive from Quezon City, Manila. Since it was our first time here, we hired a tour guide for a minimal fee to make sure we get to visit all the areas of the zoo. My unforgettable experience was playing with the monkeys and not to mention feeding the scary arapaimas.Everything was worth it.. the travel, the time and effort in reaching the place. It is a perfect lomolocation to capture the wildlife and nature. I’ll definitely go back and bring more friends next time.
Come celebrate life here at Avilon Zoo! Enjoy this day with you family and friends!
