Using Google Maps for an Analogue Lifestyle

Who wants to play a game? Exploring different cities with Google maps is so yesterday; now, its time for an analogue lomo-walk game!

Do you want to try a different way of a lomo-walk? Do you want to explore a different city in an analogue way?

My idea of this analogue-Google-Maps-lomo-walk is like this:

- You can announce your interest down at the comments
- It is open in both ways: you can send the directions of the walk and you can receive them if you like, you are even able to do both!
- You are free to send the directions for the other people who are interested in doing this analogue game by sending a private message.
- You are free to create your own directions for exploring other cities. This could be an example:

Leave your house in the right direction!

Take the 3rd street left and walk on for 5 minutes.

After a 5-minute walk, take the nearest public transport for 3 stops.

Leave the stop in the direction of south.

Shoot the biggest building you’ll find, and head on the same street till the next crossing.

Look left, look right…go in the direction which is most green.

When the song on your music player ends, take the next possibility of turning left.

Go along the street till you come across the first bike.

And now, search for the next possibility of getting high up, climb the stairs and go on top.

Take your final photo with the sun in your back!

This could be just one example for a walk, but feel free to be creative! Leave the the results of your walk on the comments section below. Provide a link to your album or your blog entry!

Let’s all go out!

very nice idea! we did something even more analogue... we wrote directions down (left, right, straight), packed a picknick basket, took the car (boooo, today i'd take the bike) and followed our own instructions to end up somewhere to have picknick - very nice ;)

Love this idea. Every time I go to NYC I do a lomo walk around Greenwich Village that always seems to end at the Lomography Gallery store and result in some new purchase of gear.

    My Lomo’Instant Quick Tips

I backed the Kickstarter project for the Lomo’Instant earlier this year and was thrilled to receive it last week. I love how the camera naturally encourages you to experiment with its different features, whether it’s through flashing your multiple exposures with different colors or trying different creative techniques after your shots has been ejected. Here are a few tips from what I’ve discovered from playing with the camera so far (and a couple of tips I want to try out in future)!
