Make Your Prophecy Finalist: nicolasesc

33

Congratulations to nicolasesc, one of the Make Your Prophecy Competition finalists! Read on to see his winning artwork and find out why he chose to represent the prophecy he did...

Name: Nicolas Escalada
Country: Japan/America
LomoHome: nicolasesc

Why did you choose the prophecy you chose? What does this prophecy mean to you?

It was hard to choose! Before I even read the guidelines, I knew how I wanted to shoot and edit this video. I couldn’t simply choose one. Although I was a bit hesitant at first, I just decided to follow my vision and do all of the prophecies! I think they’re all important for a Lomographer to take with them everywhere they go.

Why did you choose to represent it as you did?

Living in Japan has definitely made an impression on how I view things creatively. To be honest, moving there was one of the reasons I fell in love with Lomography in the first place. I would always find an interesting story wherever I went. My town there has this amazing, upbeat feel to it and I knew that’s how I wanted to portray the prophecies. And yeah, shots of Japanese girls dancing in the street never hurt.

What do you think would be a good 11th Prophecy?

Honestly, I wouldn’t include an 11th Prophecy! If there was, there would be an uneven number of prophecies and it would seriously bug me! Ten just sounds so much better than 11 in my opinion. But if I had to choose, I would say, “MAKE LOMOGRAPHY YOUR BEST FRIEND!”
