Casablanca

Do you remember? Bogart is wonderful as the mysterious café owner with a past, set up in the nightclub business with his longtime friend and piano player, Sam. His haven is disrupted when his one-time love Ilsa arrives in the company of a world-renowned resistance leader Victor Laszlo, whom the Nazis would very much like to get their hands on. Bogart and Bergman shine in this movie. The gorgeous black and white deep focus photography adds a nostalgic air of beauty and elegance to the movie.

The mystique that the movie carries really is the principal reason for my desire to go to Casablanca. I heard that it was actually quite an undesireable city and that there are a thousand nicer places to go in Morocco. But i recommend this place, probably not for the weak-hearted. it is a really wild place, very genuine, where you can meet folks who know little or zero Arabic/French. For me it was a very charming city and the Hassan Mosque is a splendid work of architectural art! Tallest mosque (because of the minaret) in the world; second largest mosque in the world after Mecca, Moroccans seem to be genuinely proud of their monument and pictures of the mosque are displayed in homes and cafes throughout the country.

Anything goes. Another “must do” town. … forget about driving, they’re maniacs. Felt very safe.
Great food, there is a restaurant close to the port where they sell fresh fish till noon…
The first, best test for any movie and city is this: Would you see it again?
I’ll probably go back!
